  1. I filled in all the VOVMEL forms months ago. Got a thank you you will be contacted. Still waiting. In the mean time, the 101 is now in Denmark, very happy with new owner, the Dodge has been to Jersey and back. The French have a habit of making things up as they go along. Heaven help any poor S*d taking a Toyota pick up through Calais then! :cool2:
  2. And now the loaded question! What gasket sealer to use? My weapon of chioce is Hylmar Blue. Anyone know anything better?

  4. Actualy Dave, No, the last one of the bunch is being done up for a customer as we speack. Darren was in at the tail end of the Withams's mass disposal of the petrol Series 3's. At the end it was a bulk offer . About £200 each but you had to take a batch of five. I'll PM Rob the number though, you never know. At leat there is still a pile of spares.

  7. STEERING WHEELS!! A lot of Bakerlite whhels go brittle and crack up.
  8. A few more pictures of Gary and Damiens kit. Plus your quiz for tonight. The place is on the top of St peter's Valley in jersey. In one prvious case an Allied parartrooper hung from a tree in the valley whilst German soldiers passsed below. When and Where? Don't worry no one in Jersey knew the answer. :cool2: So I'll give you all a hint 'Useful little insect, isn't he?
  9. Anderson shelters, I don't know. Never seen any there. Mind you the only bombing raid directly on the island's civillians was done by the German's just prior to their landing. The arcs give a nice size and comfort for sleeping though.
  10. I'll settle for the Haflinger, love those little toys. :-D
  11. The RE were very quick to see the value of jibs on tank chassis. As the Mk III ansd Mk IV became obsolete they were either used as training vehicles or converted to stores and RE vehicles. The Germans had a whole supply line to transport and refurbish British Tanks at Charelroi.
  12. Welcome in. Looking for more Dutch friends to land ourselves.. Er.. pay fraternal visits to!
  13. One for the canvas experts out there. What is the best material to use to replace the worn canvas on Bedford QLR ? The current canvas has stood a few years but is now suffering from UV brakedown.
  14. See also The British Tank, a photograpgic history 1916-1986 by Lt Col. (Retd) Geroge Forty. The best recovery systems in the Great War for British tanks, was had by the Germans!
  15. Just VERY persistent door to door salesmen! :-D
  16. its about half a Vergee, or about one third of an acre. The mini Niisen huts are actually plastic pig arcs. Make a dam good overnight sleeper.
  17. Just thought you might like to see the 'garden' barbeque we were invited to in Jersey.
  18. http://www.qsl.net/ve3bdb/ All you should need.
