  1. Sun roof in the Artic, and it leacks. Yep! The MOD and Land Rover at thier finest! :-D
  2. That looks Chuffing cold! What's the tale behind it?

  5. As for flushing product, I'd recommend this one. http://www.autocruisers.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=41_67&products_id=402&zenid=f3b699573f5f094a6cf11af430be4a33 The Forte stuff is not cheap but it defimitly moves the crud. Also seen suggestions to use Bio automatic washing powder and I know Tesco dishwasher tablets will clean years of black tea stains out of a stainless steel flask.
  6. So according to trhe Uxbridge report there will be less disturbance because the Typhoon can go supersonic without afterburner. At 1,000 feet over London? I think it's time to start a glazing buissnes! IThough the Congestion charge and LEZ will probably make the operation uneconomic.
  7. From manual recommended nose weight limit 75 kg 165 lbs. Also states nose weight plus rear load musn't exceed axle weight. No minimum weight which suprises me. A single axle trailer in particular does need a certain amount of weight to keep it stable or it wants to lift the back of the vehicle. Obviously to much nose will lift the front and can blow the back axle.
  8. Time to close system up, without thermostat Get a bottle, or three, of decent radiator flush. That will start another argument as to which one. Flush system . Then remove bottom hose , wrap rags round a hose pipe stuff into bottom of rad and back flush. I now have a De humidifier! That provides me with nice clean soft water for re-filling radiators, rain water is the other old chestnut, but catch in a clean plastic container. I also add K Bar conditioner to the mix and leave it in. With the state of the system new rubber hoses would be a good idea. Quick Note: Some vehicles can be touchy were the thermostat relif hole is positioned, don't know on your one.
  9. A lot of people seem to leave kit lying about when the Israleis come visiting.
  10. Land Rover also tip toe around the hitch. Basically the Series can tow 3.5 ton max, the most you can tow on a 50mm ball, with over run brakes. NATO hitch on Land Rovers has a tow rating of about 7 tons. 4 wheel trailers with coupled brakes max tow 4 tonnes. But the vehicle must be resubmitted to Land Rover for an uprated VIN plate. The manual also recommends for loads over 2 tonne on 90 and 110 start in low ratio and change up. Depending on your UK licence the max tow on B and C1 is 8.25 train weight. I was loking it up last night. Off road max is 1 ton.
  11. Yes, the problem is when you start agrguing with them... :cool2:
  12. Sad news. Sounds like you've lost a good friend.
  13. Ah I stand very corrcted. Thought it was 19 80's.
  14. Yes, the Army Medical Service is a recent incarnation. Though it is not unusual to have old kit stored away. I was given a box of WW2 Feild dressings in 1995. The only reason they were being disposed of was the building was being demolished. No other markings? There are sometimes Genva stamps or an issue number
  15. The design, raised felt small cross is definitley not the latest type. Could be old kit with a moern stamp.
  16. It was practice in the Western Desert to smear oil and sand on glass to prevent sun flash.
  17. Regretably, it's Can't Can't nowadays! :-D
