    A lot of immediate post war English black and white filmshave Tillys flitting about in the traffic, normally with ladders on the top. Great liitle vehicles, worked to death then forgotten.

    That Bomber Harris was thrown to the political wolves does not suprise me. The old military lore, if an order is not illeagl carry it out then argue applies. Harris did what he was told to do. Politicians can publish thier memoires, with little challenge. Military officers have a sense of Honour.

    Bloody hell of a day! The great unwashed were panic buying for the next ice age, roads jammed solid! Yesterday at 05:00 a little man started at the bottom of Orpington High Street spreading spreading salt out of a barrow, at 10:00 he reached the other end. All through today people have bene scuffing it off. Just got in at 01:00 from a night with friends, snow coming down with purpose. Got a mission later this morning to get a friend's kid out from the locla Scout camp at Done. The joys of a Discovery, will get to play with my snow chains yet!

    the plasteel that comes in a round plastic tube is excellent stuff. Breack a lump knaed till the black centre mixes with the grey outside. I plugged a large hole in a disiel engine sump very succesfully. Plastic Padding by the way is useless for the job!
