  1. Anyone can recommend a place that deal with the white meatal big ends on a Wolsley engine? The Old Dear is knocking a bit. The engine isn't out yet but according to the book the big ends don't have shells.
  2. God old Congreve! He did more to wreck Woolwich than any one else past or present!
  3. Your asking if we want more pictures? :nut:
  4. I thought it was only allowed the other way round? :-D
  5. If it is the box needs rebuilding, think about going the whole hog, new clutch and plate and definitly release bearings. Whilst its out do the lot. Saves a lot of pain and effort in the future.
  6. Welcome in Rob. What did you drive and where? And most important! Any pictures?
  7. Could be the release bearings on the clutch or the clutch itself. , much cheaper. Still an engine out job. Does the pedal feel normal when operting? I don't know how the clutch on one them works, is it Hydraulic or mechanical, if so check adjusters. Also get a crowbar and check engine and gearbox mounts.
  8. Just tied DVLA on historic. Got a pre paid reply. Though this might be useful If the taxation class is not already shown as 'Historic Vehicle' on the V5C for your vehicle, you will be able to change your taxation class at the point of relicensing at the Post Office®. The V5C must show a date of registration prior to the 01.01.1974. If this is not recorded on the V5C and the vehicle was manufactured prior to this date you will need to produce dating evidence and apply by post to DVLA, Swansea, SA99 1DZ. Acceptable dating evidence can be obtained from: • An extract from the manufacturer/factory record - these will have the chassis number of the vehicle against the month and year of production* • An extract from the 'Glasses guide'- which is a comprehensive guide on production dates and includes chassis numbers • If the vehicle has been imported and already registered, the original foreign registration certificate. *A certified copy of the factory record (with the embedded stamp) will be acceptable only from the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust (BMIHT) The keeper will need to write ‘Historic’ in the change to taxation class field in section 7 of the V5C and sign section 8. If the application is successful, you will receive your tax disc within 2 weeks. An updated V5C will be returned within 4 weeks. If a V62 form is submitted a V5C will be returned within 6 weeks.
  9. Absolutley! They have finally flipped. Though what will be the situation on Historic Tax and MOT exempt vehicles? Knowing how they cheerfully *&^% up the VL5 changes at the moment just think DVLA or what ever acrnym will be now have the whole Electronic world to play with.
  10. Ah but! The DVLA have gone 'Cool and Hip' (Or just nuts!) Try this 'Information film,
  11. Thanks for the explanation. There is one at Overloon Musuem bl**dy huge! How many HMVF memeber does it take to get round a BARC tyre? Several! :-D

  14. I tried but the Woolwich ferry was blocking the *** slip! :-D Anyway despite Condor she back over here! And finally returned to Normandy this year. Next plan is for my Grandaughter to take her to the 100th Anniversary of D-Day.
  15. Well if some one can cross the Atlantic in a Jeep, do you really think a Dodge can't do it?
  16. Vehicles for the scenario! I know where someone who has a disability and not a lot of money, the group invited him to stick copies of an Arabic number plate on his civillian Discovery and put into a VCP scenario! Fitted perfectly. My Range Rover Classic, painted NATO green and black with steel Land Rover wheels, to exclamations of You can't do that! Why not? Here are photos taken in Bosnia of the C in C's vehicle.
  17. Well he don't look to pleased! (Sorry got over come:red: )
  18. That's just a paddle for a WC54! Dodges are capable of 33 inch unprepared wading! Though an officer and a map may well be involved.
  19. Take a second very cynical person with you! Overcomes all those warm fuzzy feelings you get when you see a new MV coming your way! May be worth it for spares. Look at it that way, anything else is a bonus.
  20. There is another version of the Jeep name. Eugine the Jeep a creature that 'Knew and could do most anything' from the Popeye catoon . Beep seems to be a journalistic invention. My enquiries are the Dodges were always called Dodges, as it was to easy to mix up Jeep and Beep during radio conversations.
  21. Go to manage attachments, and click. You will need to resize the photo so it is small enough but otherwise very easy, thats why I can do it!
