  1. Didnt he do well!. I even stopped the Ferret for him to have a ride around the arena. But he had already been in one sat...:
  2. I will be ok then. As the "On Star" fitted to my car doesn't work in the UK.....
  3. Might pop by in the car tomorrow to take some pics. Then will return sat with the 101,and sunday with the Ferret.
  4. In fact the Freelander is quite a good car. The only ones to avoid are the 1.8 petrols(Suffer head gasket failures on a reguar basis) And the 2.5 V6. (Heavy fuel consumption). The TD4 (BMW) unit is a very good one. Thats why i picked that. As for it not being one of Land Rovers best product,Then trust me i think that award goes to some of the newer offerings!. Against my advice my firm has just bought three 2010 Range Rover Vogues. One is a pool car. Which i use. Already the digital analogue dash has crashed three times. and we have had gearbox issues(electronic) I think its safe to say that we wont be getting them again. But thats the way its been with all land rover products(bar defender) over the last 15 years.
  5. If i were you i would go for a late TD4 Freelander. Car like handling. And with a proper set of tyres will be able to handle the type of weather we get here in the UK.
  6. From being there at the time,Then i can honestly say that they weren't expecting it.The video showing the W+P official standing there was probably due to the fact that he had already made a couple of low level circuits of that area of the site and were wondering what his intentions were.
  7. Went past earlier. Its all strarting to come together. Some vehicles now on site.
  8. Flexible dates? Just shows how desperate they have got to entice the MV owners back. Even still. Its one show that i wouldn't support in any shape or form!.
  9. It is the same place as the boot sales. And you can view the whole site from the road. Are you sure you are not travelling past laying flat on a skateboard when you are looking at it???.
  10. Tony how do you work that one out. Its clearly visible from the A20 and sits on a slope. So "prying eye"s can have a complete view of the whole site.
  11. To be honest the site sits along way above the M20,and the A20 running alongside is normally quiet of a night time. May get the odd biker opening up. But that is normally on a day when there is an event at brands hatch.
  12. One thing i would like to know,is how they are going to manage to get MV,s stall, and the general public on site. Its no where near as big as Farming world. It is always at bursting point from the weekly boot fairs.
  13. I will be there hopefully sat, defiantly sunday in the Ferret. Drove past the site today,so looking forward to it.
  14. Well i went today. Didn't seem as busy vehicle wise as last year. But then i suspect that 90% of that was down to the unpredictable weather.Still plenty there. And seemed like a lot more public than last year. I think it wont be long before it does outgrow the venue. I took the Jeep this time. I still surprises people when i tell them it was restored 22 years ago. They think it has only just been done. Shame i cant tell my old man as he passed away in June. Anyway met and had a chat with Forum member Cripp. Always nice to have a chat with him. Saw heliops in the arena playing with an FV180. Came across Griff66,s Ferret. But no sign of him. Good show and enjoyable day.Heres looking forward to the pics....
  15. All american stuff is quite good on fuel considering the size of the engines.Ive been driving yank stuff for years, And just bought a new one to add to the collection. The engine and transmission on the M1009 is the same as fitted to the H1.
  16. Last night on the A20 at Mottingham. A Ferrew broken down. Any one here.?
  17. I only booked in on tuesday. Got my papers back thursday:thumbup:
  18. Well after putting this thread up. I couldn't make it in the end. Had problems with the re-map on the car,so didn't leave till 2.30. Too late to make it in the end. Was there any sort of flying display this year??. Hope you all had a good time. Anyone got any pics?.
  19. Ive got a completely original .50 which i mount on the Jeep........... Its dated 1943. And apart from the de-ac its 100% original with all the internal parts. I bought it 20 years ago for around £1600. A lot of money then. Most have a mix match of original bodies and replica barrels or the other way around. Never seen another one like the one i have to be honest. There is a way of mounting the .50 on your own. Take the top part of the pintle mount off the Jeep. Mount that to the.50. With that on. Place the .50 on the seat upright. Stand on the seat and pick the whole gun up.With the top mount already on,its a lot easier to drop in to place than trying to line it up on the the top pintle and trying to guide the pin in.
  20. Ive had a lot worse than that. I was awarded a piece of metal. Described as abstract art for my Jeep at the Biggin Hill Air Fare back in 1989. I will post a pic up soon.
  21. I thought they were very strict on vehicle entry. Now made plans to come as MOP,as i am at Aylesford eary sat morning with the Cerbera for a rolling road tune. Was going to make my way straight there after.
  22. I'm sorry to say this but, some people are f**king animals!
  23. The show had good publicity on LBC radio this morning:thumbsup:
