  1. Looks like a nice convoy to run into when you're having trouble with your MV! Quite heavy vehicle you have... Nice photo at the gas station. Marty
  2. As with all graveyards this one too was very peaceful. It was said that this actually is considered british property!? Is that right? Marty
  3. Yep, we would really like to hear more about that. Marty
  4. Together with some friends I visited the museum last year. I happened to have my camera with me. :-D I'm posting some photos from inside the museum, not easy to take good photos insiden though. http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w197/martylee74/IMG_0931.jpg[/img] http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w197/martylee74/IMG_0933.jpg[/img] http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w197/martylee74/IMG_0935.jpg[/img] http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w197/martylee74/IMG_0938.jpg[/img] http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w197/martylee74/IMG_0941.jpg[/img] http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w197/martylee74/IMG_0944.jpg[/img] We also visited the nearby cemetary, where a gravestone sent a chill thru my bones. Known unto god. http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w197/martylee74/IMG_0955.jpg[/img] http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w197/martylee74/IMG_0950.jpg[/img] Marty
  5. We too do color the days for a lot of people, just like the spits and lancs color our days. Just went hiking into the mountains for a few days with two dodges and a trailer which is a nice sight together, we had people slowing down and staring. As long as we don't mess up traffic people love us. Marty
  6. I'm getting these fantasies about a little train like the one shown with some remote controlled tanks on the wagons behind it... My girlfriend keep telling me how childish I am... Marty
  7. Don't let the kid inside you die! This looks like a man who truely enjoy life, with his different hobbies. Marty
  8. Looks like you had a great time! That's good! Looking forward to seeing even more photos! Marty
  9. That's a really nice toy collection. And you don't look very old in the pictures either! ;-) It was fun to see these photos. My girlfriend isn't very fond of me & the kid buying weapons (real toy, plastic that is! :-D) But we too collect them, and play with them. As I say, let the kids finish playing with guns now and they won't start a war later. Again, very nice collections both of you presented. Hope you have as much fun with it as I have with mine. Marty
  10. I just looked at a few of the photos from W&P, and have now decided to save the rest for later. I think I'll invite some friends over and hook the computer up to a projector and watch them on a big screen... Should be entertainment for hours... Marty
  11. I liked those! Nice selection of different vehicles! Marty
  12. Yep, that's right. Plenty of these in norwegian service. Lot's of these were sold to farmers after the was and later service in the forces. They saw use in fields and woods. Actually there's one project for sale now, for less than 1500 euroes. I wish I was more of a mechanic... Marty
  13. Nice photos. I really envy you guys! Marty
  14. Also from the museum mentioned in the weasel thread. http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w197/martylee74/IMG_1890.jpg[/img] M24 Chaffee http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w197/martylee74/IMG_1840.jpg[/img] M48A5 http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w197/martylee74/IMG_1889.jpg[/img] Leopard 1 Marty
  15. I visited the national defense museum in Oslo, Norway a week ago where I found this nice weasle I thought I'd show you. I'm not sure how commen these postwar configurated Weasels with the 106 recoilless rifle were. Anyway, here it is! http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w197/martylee74/IMG_1843.jpg[/img] http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w197/martylee74/IMG_1844.jpg[/img] http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w197/martylee74/IMG_1845.jpg[/img] Marty
  16. Operation torch... which means we're saving the the great "overlord" for our next mission. We went camping a couple of weeks ago. Since the kid has grown fond of MVs and military related things, I guess it's no big suprise that we ended up doing our trip not excately in the traditional manner. As our destination we chose a small island in the nearby lake. On this island there used to be a fortress built around 1100, but only bricks remain there this day. Then we had our target, the objective was to hold the island for 24 hours before withdrawing. http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w197/martylee74/0412-03185.jpg[/img] As we all great military missions this had to be planned and prepared for. There was a lot of stuff we needed to get. We also had to see what the area looked like. And this is why I'm posting this thread. We spent a day two months ago in the area around the island just me and the kid. We were building a camp to have our meal in when we heard this roar behind us. When we turned what did we see... http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w197/martylee74/IMG_1571.jpg[/img] http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w197/martylee74/IMG_1572.jpg[/img] In this photo the C-130 is right above the island. http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w197/martylee74/IMG_1573.jpg[/img] http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w197/martylee74/IMG_1574.jpg[/img] http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w197/martylee74/IMG_1575.jpg[/img] http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w197/martylee74/IMG_1576.jpg[/img] I never thought that we would see a Hercules on our trip, and that it would take a turn right over the island we were going to!!! :-) You can actually see the island in the pics. Of course the official story is that when we go on a trip we use all available equipment. Even the airforce!!! :-D :-D :-D Of course this was a very big moment for the kid (and me). Needless to say the further planning went well and two weeks ago we went to the island. We have heard abot travelling light, we just choose not to practice it! :-D http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w197/martylee74/IMG_1807-1.jpg[/img] http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w197/martylee74/IMG_1785.jpg[/img] Our LST... I have just started my vacation, it's raining and I'm looking a photos. Just thought I'd share this experinece with the Hercules with you. Marty
  17. Wow, I'm impressed by your quick visit. Looks like you managed to get a lot out of your trip. Nice photos. I don't mind if you post more of them... ;-) Marty
  18. Hi! Do you know the location of these two? And what kind of shape are they in? Is it possible to drive them? Marty
  19. I gotta agree with Enigma there. Not often we see female drivers. At the moment I'm trying to persuade my girlfriend to buy a Jeep. She's still not very happy with the green color. However she has no problem with the looks of it, just the color and that it is army. Should I go for a navy look instead??? :-D Marty
  20. Hmmm... intresting! Might it have been yours!? Well, anyone who drives a Dodge is a king in my eyes! :-D
  21. Wow, Look at that Dodge with the quad guns. Gotta love it! Thanks for sharing these photos. Marty
  22. Names of planes... After looking at these wonderful photos I started thinking of the names of many of these planes. And when looking at the bearcat it struck me that the name suits it perfectly, just as perfectly as the Mustang suit its name. Eh... sorry about that just had some thoughts, won't disturb you with those again... :-D Marty
  23. I gotta say I liked the conversation with the kid. I reconize it very well. The more gross and disgusting things are, the more will they like it. It's also a fact that old men and kids they will do anything to see our machines and doesn't hide their excitement one bit. Looked like a lot of fun! Marty
  24. Who won the chess game on the hood of the chess board, eh... Dodge!? Fun to see a Dodge in other colors than green! Nice photo of the GAZ jeep. Makes me think a little of a certain GAZ located in norway. Would be fun to have one of these... Marty
