  1. I shall watch out for it. Did you get to be in the film, as well, or did they just want the car?
  2. Not having ever worked on an AFV, I presume the string is to retrieve tool after dropping into the belly, which you know is likely to happen
  3. Have to side with Safariswing on this one, always use flux on a soldered joint, and always clean off the joint afterwards. However, your new lead looks quite good.
  4. Depends what you are fitting them to, as a personal preference I wouldn't use them on a front steer axle at all. Use of a retread on a rear/drive axle is common practice on a commercial vehicle. A full case remould as opposed to a tyre that has only a tread rebuild is better.
  5. Wonder if they had any idea of what they were starting on that day?
  6. Hi Shaun, welcome aboard. Looking forward to seeing pics of the show
  7. Welcome aboard, friend, you'll find plenty of info on here
  8. Welcome aboard to a fellow ex Sapper. Hurrah for the CRE!
  9. Welcome aboard, like the look of the websites, that was my history too
  10. Not sure about useful spares Simon, most of it looks wrecked or missing. Says it drives well, is that with the flat tyres? Be interesting to see if he gets a sale
  11. Welcome aboard Ken, nice pic of ferret
  12. Sorry cant help with questions, but interesting project. Is the inside in reasonable condition?
  13. We are 133.9p a litre for diesel in Sittingbourne now, that means £300 to fill up the Militant. Doesn't look like I'll be going too far in it this year
  14. Welcome aboard, love to see some pics of your ferret
  15. Hi Steve and welcome aboard, best of luck with your quest for an MV. You never know, there may be someone on here who can help you out with storage in your area.
  16. She doesn't look too bad, mainly light panel work and paint. As previously stated if she goes OK you are halfway there. Anyway the worse it looks now, the greater your sense of achievement when you have got her looking at her best. You should start a restoration blog with plenty of pictures. All the best with it.
  17. New Years Day and the good lady is at the cooker knocking out the mince pies and sausage rolls ready for the "family" who will be round later to empty the drinks cabinet etc. She has only got half the kitchen to work in because she has let me have the rest to do the wiring on the Militants dashboard, as it's too f*****g cold to work in the shed What a wonderful woman, and she makes me coffee as well!! Anybody else got it this good?
  18. Not so funny when you see the rest of the pictures, what a mess, pity the poor driver.
  19. Looks like it might have been from the last train, you could run this one as a caption competition :D
  20. Cant help feeling it served him right! I also feel sorry for the farmer mentioned in Andy Fowlers piece, got run over by his own Land Rover. They said on the news he'd had his shot gun with him, but hadn't managed to use it. Of course he would have been done if he had let one of them have it, but at least he would still be alive.
  21. Nice conversion, and damned useful at that length, as well. Will you need a proper LGV licence to drive it now?
