I am finally starting the removal of the fenders and boxes on my ferret - The question is how does one disconnect the wiring from the junction box on the body for the turn signals, headlight and smoke discharger? Thanks

I am soon going to be changing the starter motor on my Alvis Stalwart (STAL54). While I am at it, I would like to know more about the wiring system: for example, the braided cable that runs from the ignition junction box to the starter motor. I'd like to find out what sort of cables and connectors were used, and I'd appreciate advice on how best to go about sympathetically rejuvenating the wiring, cleaning the connector contacts, and possibly sourcing replacements. I'd like the wiring to be safe and reliable, but as "authentic" as possible too. DJW

The attached diagram shows part of the ignition circuit on the Alvis Stalwart; it's the bit inside the big circle that puzzles me. Is this old notation for a relay? If so, what is the switching characteristic? Rgds, DJW

Hi, The Hazard warnings do not work on our Ferret - I've investigated and the problem lies with the switch - which no one appears to have. I belive it can be repaired as the problem is simply the small relay built into the switch which I plan to substitute, the current relay has disintegrated. Has anyone got the circuit? and before I get bombarded with "go look at http://www.ferret-fv701.co.uk/" the circuits there do not have the wiring for the hazard warning switch - despite the website saying so. only the indicator wiring minus the hazard circuit. I have looked at every circuit possible I can find and none refer to the hazard warning switch. Diana and Jackie :nut:
