  1. Because of its proximity to Stranraer and number of empty aircraft hangars, West Freugh has been (and still is) used as a depot for NI vehicles that MOD don't want to put on the ferry. It's quite possible than when it was in "Northern Ireland" it actually sat in a hangar at West Freugh! http://www.ltpa.co.uk/site_range/west_freugh/index.asp Andy
  2. The 1995 entry is what was Test and Evaluation Establishment (now QinetiQ) West Freugh if that helps? Andy
  3. Hopefully any ignition noise should be overcome by a few suppressor capacitors. Your design seems sound, have you seen this document? http://www.ferret-afv.org/manuals/clansman_wiring_harness_and_control_boxes_description.pdf Andy
  4. Unfortunately I only took one, I was too busy talking to people! Andy
  5. Unfortunately I can't help with that, I've only got experience of the Mk.2s, which have an electronic rev counter, Andy
  6. Do you really mean the speedo cable? I wouldn't expect it to turn with the engine running, the vehicle needs to move for that! Andy
  7. A trifle muddy but good fun nevertheless. Don't let the weather put anyone off. Good to meet you again, Rosie! :-) Andy
  8. That's not mine, mine's still in bits! It was just the first photo I found that showed the funnel in place. Andy
  9. Seen here on the turret of a Abbot, between the smoke grenade launcher and the saddlebag: Andy
  10. It's sunny now, go while the going's good! :-) Andy
  11. An ambulance at a wedding is disturbing! :-) Andy
  12. S758 is what MOD actually specify. Andy
  13. What possible reason would anyone have for burying them? Andy
  14. I think you'll find that the power connector is the same as that used for penthouse lights. Usually plentiful on eBay! Andy
  15. They're in Kent, for anyone else who's wondering ... Andy
  16. That damage is typical of misuse when adjusting the gap, the central electrode doesn't usually take kindly to bending. Andy
  17. It's failed and tracked to earth? Andy
  18. Some tips for the Trakmark: Buy a heat gun Cut some decent sized pieces from the roll and re-roll them in the opposite direction until you need them Continue the Trakmark round the back of the foam so it won't unstick like the original Andy
  19. Yes, that's new Trakmark over new foam. Re-trimming the driver's compartment was a very tedious exercise, but the end result makes it well worth the effort. Andy
  20. This is what the completed upper division plate should look like, I just put mine back together over the weekend. I think Carwood were less than £200 for the re-con last time I used them - I'll send you a PM. Andy
  21. Looking forward to it once again! Andy
  22. I've been using Pulsetechs for three years now without a hint of a problem. One charger has been left switched on for months at a time. Andy
  23. Because they like a controlled charge in terms of voltage or current, and a non-intelligent charger won't provide that. This is what it says on the side of the battery: Hawker tell me that virtually all "faulty" batteries they've received have been damaged by incorrect charging. Andy
  24. Don't use it on something like a Hawker though, you'll knacker the battery. Andy
  25. If you're missing the upper Division Plate then you don't have a hand throttle either? Andy
