I didn't get there until nearly 8pm because of work (bummer) and went with one of the Zils.... I wanted to catch up with Toolman but as I was walking back to the Zil I saw him drive off. Catch him next time (probably Ponderosa).

Totally my thoughts....

This Friday there is a classic car show in Thornes park,Wakefield West Yorkshire. It is usually quite good with a mix of vehicles. Is anyone else going. The gathering starts from 9 am but I aim to arrive about 6.30 pm. I will have to take one of the Zils because I am lending Bernadette to a friend (bad move ).

So am I to take it that every time we retax a pre 1960 lgv we have to use a V112G ?

Does anyone know when the next one is ??

Big Brother has taken one more step towards a totalitarian state.... A few years ago I was run into 3 times in an 18 month period by uninsured drivers. I chose to repair out of my own pocket rather than go through the insurance. It cost a few quid and made me rather angry. However I still prefer this rather than this further complication to our lives.....

Has anything happened yet? I ask the question because I have just received a tax reminder for my pre 1960 vehicle and it states that I need an MOT test from the 8th of August this year. Does this mean that it is here???

What I don't understand include why are we giving billions in aid to other countries when we have massive problems at home, and as for funding medical projects in Africa when we cannot provide the best care for British citizens just astounds me... My father (who has paid more in tax each year that many people earn !) needs some treatment for his eyesight which if untreated will result in certain blindness within the next few years. The NHS will not pay and want to charge £1500 for each injection in a course of 6 over 12 months... Understanding women is easy compared to this!!!!

How did you end up in Huddersfield, Timbo? Bravery was demonstrated by the bucketload on all sides. I wonder if our generation would fare as well? It is so often the case that our heroes didn't want to talk about their exploits because it brings back the horror that they witnessed in these dark days. My ex's father would talk to me about it for hours and even as a late 30 something I would sit downstairs drinking brandy into the small hours listening to wonderous tales of Sherman tanks ,Crusader tanks Tiger tanks, and all manner of other things concerning the North African and Italian campaigns.I would listen to him as a young boy would listen to his father or grandfather. It turned out that I was the only member of the family that he ever talked about it to and I feel rather priveleged that he could discuss it with me. I always urged him to write his memoirs, sadly he never did and now he is gone. The best man I have ever known.

I think we should all fill this questionaire. We all need to fight for the right to pursue our hobby.

Up to the Comet though the German tanks are undenyably better...
