    Music

it is different but easy to listen to. coming from someone who loves ska & greenday etc that is a compliment ta Berni
  4. definately, we got the jimmy & russ did toy with the idea of selling her as she wouldn't come out to play very often but she tugs on the heart strings & i think we will have her for life now, or it will have to be a pretty dire situation for us to let her go. dare i say it but i would have to sell the jimmy before the MW we'll be taking her to swindon & cricklade instead of the jimmy thanks for asking berni
  5. we were there sun & mon & the battle was great. only 1 complaint as a mop ...we couldn't see all the battle. if you are short 5.6" like me it was really difficult to see over the heads of people in front as the ground is so flat & everyone stands at the barriers, they could do with a bank like beltring so kids & shorties alike can see whats going on, also it is a huge battle ground & you couldn't see both ends at the same time. i do like Detling & it is the only show of the year that we do go to as Mops & stay in a hotel as opposed to camping your display did look fab & the woodland position was great ta berni
  6. our mv will be sat in a supermarket carpark for the day while we stand & collect moeny for the legion... so yes ours will be out ta berni
  7. i know someone that way who owns a duck has moved recently but i don't know where to. i am going to the severnside mvt meeting tonight at kingswood & i know a chap called paul has been in contact with almost every dukw owner in the uk as they needed 2 for bristol docks. if he is there i'll ask him for help otherwise i'll have to get his number & go from there, sorry i couldn't help more Berni
  8. we will be at the swindon & cricklade railway that weekend, have a great time . ta berni
  9. if you've got children then a gmc is ideal, drive up to a show & all you need is in the back without having to put up tents etc, also if it is raining you have somewhere to sit. I have got my first gmc on the road & it is ace. we started off with a landrover & progressed to a ww11 bedford mw which is about the same size as a dodge, the bedford is fab & we wouldn't sell it even though we now have the Jimmy. a reo is post war american & about the same size as a jimmy but a lot faster.you can get an unregistered series 3 for a few hundred pounds & with a bit of paint & may be the odd bit of mechanics you can have a real tidy vehicle where as the ww11 vehicles start at thousands & the less work they need the more thousands they are. welcome to the mad house by the way & enjoy the chase ( thats the hard part) cheers berni
  10. for anyone who has ever met me they will know that i am the least girlie girl around & when it comes to jewellery i had to have something un girlie, i used to work on cars in a second hand spares workshop so it seemed fitting to wear a spanner instead of a diamond. i had a 1/8th snap-on spanner imported from the states & have it on a silver chain, i do need it re chroming as it has gone black over the years. it has set off airport scanners before & i do get funny looks when they find out what it is. i would like a 10 mm open ended spanner bent into a bracelet but haven't got round to having one made yet. not very exciting i'm afraid but you did ask. ta berni
  11. i cant remember what car park it was but we were just inside one of the entrance gates in a prime spot with 200 plus vehicles. a great atmosphere and great fun, what has happened to it then i wonder? :? the mole thing was so funny as there was always hundreds of mole hills & you could be in your tent & wake up to more mole hills under your bed etc. can you still get drunk for free round the stalls & have a lunch of free taster food? ta berni
  12. a quiet stoneleigh, is that possible? i haven't been for 2 years but went for about 7 before that & it was never quiet. is there still hundreds of moles? cheers berni
  13. :yay!: :yay!:  :yay!: :yay!: another girlie, if ever you see a female walking around a show wearing a very small spanner round her neck then come & say hi to me. welcome mrs hardy ferrett ta Berni
  14. i like the jeep hoisted up without its wheels, never seen that before excellant ta berni
  15. looks good lynne i too have nightmare hair & i also had a nan who would put spikey rollers in my hair overnight & it also went straight again before i left the house. it is a very technical process to get them rolls in so 'scuse the pun' but hats off too you ta Berni

  19. welcome to the forum, i do have a soft spot for the 109 as it was my first MV. mine was a fully civilian spec which was drafted into the army. it was in original colours of blue & yellow roof when i bought it as it served in northern ireland. i did get into a few arguments with men who called it a fake as it didn't have anything military about it but they had to shut up when i produced the MOD release papers and the dvla registration documents. why does yours have a suspect origin? curious Berni
