  1. Andy's story here is a useful place to start... http://www.members.iinet.net.au/~dgrev/dhmg/andjef.html
  2. I know at least the following units had Sabres: Armour Centre 1 KOSB 1 QLR 1 R Anglian 1 WG 1 Kings 1 Staffords QOY I don't think this is a complete list. Chris
  3. Our Fox was released with the bilge pump still fitted, and it only had 100 miles on it since rebuild. Perhaps they were removed by the units but there was never a modification instruction issued?
  4. Paul, Mine also had a rebujld at 23BW. I heard a story once about the operators using the J instead of the I, but can't remember why it was! Chris
  5. That would be nice, anyone got any leads?
  6. Robin, I'm afraid not. We had several fan units, alternators etc but sold it all off once we had a complete set of nice bits for ours. Some of them probably ended up in your Fox though! Chris
  7. Robin, According to the user manual there is no adjustment of the belts. I know there are shims which sit between the alternator brackets and the fan housing, but can't see any instructions for how many to fit. How loose is it? We usually work to 1/2" or so deflection when pressed in the middle of the span. Chris
  8. All you need is in the EMERs - V664 Chapter 1. It shows you how to correctly shim it all etc.
  9. Richard, #34 is easy to get, but don't rule out problems with the bevel gearbox. We have a NOS fan drive unit fitted to ours. The first time we drove it it started rumbling, and got worse and worse. We stripped it down to reveal that it hadn't been assembled correctly. After a bit of work it's now ok! Belts are all standard commercial sizes, I did make a list of the numbers once, but they are mostly written on the belts anyway. Chris
  10. Robin, I don't have any of those parts going spare, but I have the parts book and EMERs so I'll see if I can scan the pages. Chris
  11. Can you not remove the gearbox from inside the crew compartment? Some info that might help here... http://www.members.iinet.net.au/~dgrev/dhmg/andjef.html
  12. Andy, PX1 is what aircraft engine parts are coated with before storage. It's not too expensive, you can brush it on, let the excess drip off, wrap in plastic and pack the parts away. Chris
  13. Robin, The harness for the rear lights should disconnect from the corner bins with some screw off plugs, which make the job easier. There are plenty of photos here http://www.sirhc.co.uk/gallery - look under the Fox section. The fan drive coupling looks like one of the batch we made. Chris
  14. If I had the cash I'd like an M944A1, anyone seen one for sale in Europe before? http://www.primeportal.net/ce/don/m944_int_walk_1.htm Seen them go through the US Surplus sales quite cheap, but it's a big lump to ship home! http://www.govliquidation.com/auction/view?id=2980804&convertTo=USD Chris
  15. Clive, It's the Technical Description for the FV2631, dated '99. Can't see anything in there about Mk2, but thought you might be interested. PM me your email address. Chris
  16. The tracks are approx 750kg, engine approx 300kg, gearbox 500kg. Then add fuel (800litres), ammo, radios, personal kit, people, it soon adds up.
  17. Andy, A good choice is Lanolin/PX1: http://www.lasaero.com/site/products/article?id=Y00RBLD1X Chris
  18. I have a rebuilt, accident damaged TUM (HS) in other words a Wolf 110. There are some pics of it here http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?7132-Land-Rover-Wolf-Build. I haven't been keeping up with the latest on the in service ones, but I believe they are converting the 90s to 110s using a new chassis. It sounds like these ones in the tender may be a collection of parts, which when reassembled would be a complete-ish vehicle. From the guide price I expect it's just a pile of bent bits. When they were being released in 2003 complete accident damaged vehicles were around £3500+vat. Chris
  19. All the manuals you need are here... http://www.ekmpowershop5.com/ekmps/shops/greenmachines/bedford-tm-81-c.asp Chris
  20. Normally if mineral oil is required, such as for a CVR(T) master cylinder, then green tags will be fixed to it.
  21. KE = Vehicles on contracts placed in 1985. It may not have been built in 85 though. Join the EMLRA and get a history search done on your number.
  22. They are probably ex-gate guardians, like the Ferrets which they have been selling recently.
  23. It's probably because CVR(T) and Warrior were designed when most of the AFVs were based in Germany. I've only ever seen RHD Saxons.
