Fox and Ferret gearbox settings

I need to check my Fox gearbox using the depth gauge method (I'm making a gauge up myself), please would someone confirm if the depth settings (dimension X) listed in the Ferret EMER as correct for Fox as well given that the Fox gearbox is not interchangeable with a Ferret one

Thanks

John,

Busbar heights for Fox Dimension X

1st 6.9"

2nd 7.05"

3rd 7.15"

4th 7.2"

5th 7.45"

Adjuster screw Dimension Y

1st 0.725"

2nd 0.830"

3rd 0.850"

4th 0.940"

5th 0.475"

I have not got the Ferret EMER to hand, but I think the bus bar heights are the same, from memory......having set so many of the damn things

:cool2: all is explained - you didn't seem very keen and couldn't refuse fast enough when I asked if you could do the job for me a few months ago!:coffee:

Some sort of post war snobbery

Next time I'll ask about the C8 instead - mind you've done at least one of those as well I believe :yay:

Quite a lot of the Fox gearbox parts, certainly the rotating ones, are the same as Ferret. We stripped and repaired one and managed to get the bits we needed from Banisters.

:-D:-D:-D truth is, John, my knees are playing up lately and makes it a bit uncomfortable doing them, in Foxes, athough Ferret is not so bad, nor Saracen.

Post war snobbery...........no such thing here, 1930's to present day is my motto :......been on a C8 today :shake:.........:-D
