Meteor tank engine for hot rod project

Do you know anyone who specialises in pre-selector gearboxes for Ferret and the like please? I'm about 40 miles West of London.

 

I need to construct a step-up intermediate gearbox to go between a Meteor tank engine and a heavy duty automotive gearbox for a hotrod project. My hope is that one of the epicyclic gear-trains from the pre-selector gearbox from a Ferret might have approximately the ratio I am after.

 

The geartrain would have to have quite a large sun gear in relation to the internally toothed annulus gear, specifically the sun gear would have to have over half the number of teeth of the internally toothed annulus gear.

Dodd did this some years ago with what was claimed to be a Merlin, it was a Meteor. Reputedly it could do 200 mph! Trouble was ****** journalist didn't notice the speedo was actually in KPH :dunno: He also right royally P**** off Rolls Royce by using one of their grills, especially as it was Rover built engine :-D

I hope by the end of the project the sun is shining out of your annulus :whistle:
