DFC1943Fl.Lt.
Hi all, Hoping the forum can be of help. I have recently bought a dingo and is almost complete apart from a few odd bits. The main item I am looking for is one of the aerial mounts to the side of the top armour. It is the aerial mount which looks to have a cage around it. Has anyone got one for sale or know of one for sale. Even a close up photo with some measurements could be of help as I may go down the route of trying to make one as its just for show. Thanks in advance Steve.

DFC1943Fl.Lt.
Hi Seamus, yep decided to go for it. Its all there just needs putting together. Quite a few spares included. £23k though. But when completed I guess it'll be worth it.
67burwood
That looks fantastic and very jealous, keep us updated with the build. The Daimler armoured vehicle FB page might be useful. Edited April 6 by 67burwood

sirhc
You need the B set antenna base. You can get a replica of the metal bit from various places, I’ve seen them on eBay, but the rubber bit is much harder to find and took me 2 years. There’s a guy now making replicas, try the Dingo group on Facebook. Chris

Everything for a Dingo is expensive, if you can find it..! I’ve just rebuilt my engine and decided I couldn’t put it back in without tidying up the dingo first so it’s now pretty much stripped for blasting and rewiring. If you need tyres the Empire tyres from Barry Ring are very good.

My Dingo was driven in his workshop in the 90's and was started to be stripped but the turns by hand and is complete. Not sure how much of a restoration I'm going to be doing. Going to try and start her fist and if everything is ok I'll most likely give it a once over and get out and enjoy the experience.

Ron Thanks for that Ron, measurements would be most helpful. Is this type of aerial mount the same for all or do they differ in construction. Meaning do some look different in some way or another. Ron
As far as I know, the B set antena's are the same with the exception of the ring brush guard fitted to those in a more vunarable positon. I'm getting ready for a weekend away, but I'll try and take some pictures/measurments tomorrow. Ron
Ron
Presumably you will acquire one of those metal bases from R&R. So I've concentrated on the rare rubber part. As a stop gap until one turns up, one could be turned in hardwood or aluminium and painted black. The measurements are near enough for a repro. The five grooves are about 1/8" deep Ron Edited April 11 by Ron

DFC1943Fl.Lt.
Just to add that I have polished up the welds and fine filled where necessary. Just got to paint in 298.
Ron
Yes that will do fine. I did think that it can't be that difficult to mould the rubber part. Ron

What size is the threaded end please. I've just bought a replica 'B' set aerial mount and the threaded hole for the aerial is 4mm. Will these screw in. Thanks Steve.
