Civvy-style Jeep.......

I just came across this old family photo which shows our home in about 1950, when my father was working as a civil engineer on various jobs across the UK.  Hence we lived like gypsies for a few years.  I recall Dad talking about this Jeep, supplied by his employer.  It looks like a civilianised version - based on surplus WW2 vehicle??  Presumably there was brisk trade in these things with a shortage of cars post-war?  (The quality is not good I'm afraid - from a very small photo)

Certainly ours looks like one of the Metamet "Saloon" Jeeps!  Thanks for posting.  Dad swapped the Jeep for an A35 Austin for a while until along came a green Series 1 Land Rover soft top!  We used to play at "soldiers" in it - probably sowed the seeds for my MV addiction!
