The Bristol Bofors relied on battery power, with a small single-cylinder J.A.P engine driving a recharging dynamo fitted at the back of the loading platform.

Does the engine give a clue to the generator? Sorry, no information on the generator.

Superb , thanks . I will look into the generator

Just found some info on the Charger, Battery, it is given as being part no. AN.386.MA

There is also a note showing that the charger is an Air Ministry item No. 42U/500 modified by increasing  the petrol tank capacity from 2 to 3 pints and reversing the instrument panel.

Thanks Richard, if you find the the CD I would love a copy. All costs of copying would be covered

One was sold in this country about 5 years so in theory still around to view.   The Royal Artillery Historical Collection may also have one in their collection in Wiltshire.

Thanks , I have now located a JAP engine, just need to find a generator and a Bristol Bofors manual
