kdgipsy
Can any one help identify this bracket and provide information of what extinguisher went in it? Thanks Keith Edited July 4, 2023 by kdgipsy
wally dugan
it's for the METHYL BROMIDE EXTINGUSHER which was still been fitted in the sixties

Adrian Barrell
I don't see how a Methyl Bromide extinguisher will fit that bracket.

Adrian Barrell
I make the brackets as shown in the one in the Sexton and the type you have is not at all the same. As Wally says, there are different sizes of MB extinguisher but they are all the same design and shape.
kdgipsy
Just an update turns out the bracket I pictured initially is an origanal it's also bent. Conveniently it's bent in a perfect 90deg so thrown every one out. This is the extinguisher I need but it appears to be fitted upside down is that common? The top is as marked on the top of the bracket as shown in your photo. That is how they all should be fitted - with the bottle above the nozzle. I realise that it says top on that bracket but the one in my friend's gipsy is fitted upside down but believed to be origanal
Tim Vibert
My theory is bracket has been modified. See photo. Regards Tim
Adrian Barrell
This is the standard BCF extinguisher, nothing to do with the Methyl Bromide type as suggested earlier.
