Topdog
At long last I have buried an armoured cable to supply mains power to where the Ferret is parked on the front grass. A 24 volt electric buggy charger from ebay with an interstart socket on the end and we are in business!!! No more flat batteries
Tony B
Rig for economy 7? Silly question but is there a 24 volt solar charger, the 12 volt ones are a fantastic bit of kit for keeping a battery charged, and free running costs.

LeeEnfield
just 'won' a 12v on e bay, :-) certainly loads cheaper than I've seen in car shops around here. :-D :-D
Topdog
'Rig for economy 7? ' Nah, just have it permanently rigged when parked up and on a timer for 1 hour a day just to keep things ticking over. I try to run it up every 7-10 days for a couple of minutes and work the brakes etc.
MiketheBike
Do you think it would be OK to charge through the accessory plug? I am not sure if that is disabled when the igintion is off (probably not) and whether the cables are up to it.

I am not sure if that is disabled when the igintion is off (probably not) and whether the cables are up to it. You should be able to trickle charge a battery through the accessory socket, so long as it is very low ampage, you can buy a number of chargers which charge through cigar lighter sockets (12v) as the ampage is low. Just make sure that you get the polarity right, i.e. Positive and Neutral the right way round! :schocked:
