Rick W
What is the difference between a Jeep combat rim and what I assume, is a standard rim? :?
0 sirhc
Rick, I think the combat rims are the devided disc/split rim type - you can change a tyre without any special equipment? No doubt someone will tell me if I am wrong. Chris
0 Degsy
Yes you are correct Chris, I think very early Jeeps had a normal type of rim before the main production went on to the split/combat rim. The Hotchkiss used anormal type rim.
0 Nick Johns
Rick, I - you can change a tyre without any special equipment? No doubt someone will tell me if I am wron Chris That is the theory....If only it was that easy once the tyre has been on a split rim for a few years !! special eqp usually comprises hydraulic bead breaker, sledge hammer crow bar......... :? Probably why all French army Jeeps regardless of age were all retro fitted with solid one piece rims..
0 Enigma
I replaced the tires on the Dodge years back. Getting the tyres of the rim worked with a lot of WD 40 on it. Inflated the tyres with a footpump.....good excersise. :died: After that not to difficult.
