laboisselle
This may sound like an absolutely bone question but I am completely unfamiliar with the underneath of a Jeep and wonder whether someone could please post pics showing locations of the gear oil filler plug for the gearbox and ditto for the transfer case when in situ underneath the vehicle? Many thanks,
john1950
Apparently it is easier to take the top off the gearbox than get at the filler plug, which is on the right hand side of the box if you are looking forward. Only the very early gearboxes had seperate levels. If you look up Jessie the jeep, thread (Ive been spending again) he has posted a photo of doing the job. Sorry I forgot to add, last page but one. MB1944
I believe that the early gear boxes had the filler on the right hand side when looking forward. Most have the filler on the left hand side with a separate filler for the transfer case situated at the back of the case, all whilst looking forward.
