thedawnpatrol
Hello Chaps can anyone point me in the right direction for obtaining a higher resolution image of this photograph ? I have tried the Daily Mail web site, but no good. thanks Jules
Bob Grundy
It is an Imperial war Museum photograph in the 'Q' series. Look in IWM Collection Search on the web, we don't know the number but there is a box for key words, 99% sure it is the late summer of 1916, maybe the attack on Morval which as everyone knows is the First Battle of the Somme. My question is why you want a good resolution of it ?
Tony B
There is a lot to suggest a staged photograph, not least, it's in daylight.

I have had a search and these chaps may be of the same party in The Daily Mail photo. It is Q 4288 Battle of Morval, 'Wiring party carrying their implements going up to the line near Ginchy'
thedawnpatrol
Hello Bob Yes, thank you for this, I saw these images, you could be right. The reason for this request, is as a background as big as I can make it, for a WW1 display at school, this is my Tommy Atkins. I thought it would look good behind Cheers Jules
