sirhc
I found this yesterday, it looks to have many of the modifications done to the Pigs, and even some others. It would be easy enough to save, and was very complete. Someone please save it before it gets cut up! If you want details send me a PM. I'm not sure of the price, it might not be cheap, but it is probably unique. sirhc
Andy, Nope thise are off something else. There were thousands of tyres of various sizes chucked all over the place. The Saracen had all its wheels and tyres! Chris

sirhc
Andy, There ARE piles of tyres, I'm not sure how happy the owners are about people turning up though so I'll PM you the address and phone number. It's in the Midlands. Chris
Rick W
Let me know too, if it needs rescueing......
fv1609
This Saracen has the protection added from Op Kremlin 1 & Kremlin 2, worth rescueing of course but not really that rare. Reading the REME SITREPs of 1973/4, the figures vary, but all Saracens went through Op Kn 1 & 2, the maximum figured recorded was 397 Saracens. sirhc
I don't know the price, but the owners know what it is worth and it won't be cheap. I will try and ask though. Chris
paul connor
I dont get some people... They all know the worth and wont sell, but alas happy to let rot or bury under things... why do these people buy things? i have met many a type like this... like buying a porsche to prop the shed up with and keep tools in
garv23
I ave a picture of Saracen like that from a edition of military vehicles international. I will try to scan it
MiketheBike
How very sad...makes you wonder how and why it got there in the first place. A Saracen was actually going to be my choice for my first forray into armour, but thought it would be just too much mechanically and marriage-wise to take in for a newbie! Flav
Hi chris do you have any contact details & address where saracen is please 8-)
antar
This Saracen was not alone 12 months ago! it is 1 of a bach of 20ish which have mostly been cut up. A better look round the yard would have revealed one more of them, painted in sand. They had all been stood for a very long time in the open and have stuck engines. I am very familiar with the yard visiting on a weekly basis, even had my own key for a few months whilst I worked on a vehicle which I bought from them. I was on first name terms with the two large Rotwielers which the night watchman would regullarly let lose!!!
sirhc
John, Yes I did see the other one at the end of the yard. I assume they came from Jacksons, as I'm sure the other one was in the tender they had. I was there a couple of times the other month resucing a few parts from the last couple of Spartans before they're cut up too. Chris
ChrisPWRR
How can you ever justify cutting up a vehicle like that???? Due to legal bills fighting my dads ex I can't afford a vehicle at the moment but I'm sure Paul Connor will want it!
