fayjo56
Can anyone recommend a supplier of battery leads, either off the roll or made up with ends to order?
R Cubed
Failing that I have just got some 50mm welding cable for my truck, try the local welding supplies shop. Nice and flexible and also plain black, but not braided though. However only paid £6.00 per meter as long as you like.
snort
Failing that , go to your local Agricultural dealer, they will have it in stock and can fit the ends too.
Lauren Child
Is it 6V or 12V? A lot of the battery cable commercially available these days is meant for 12V and can't handle the current load that a 6V starter would put on it. That rules out a lot of the pre-made options. cosrec
????? order bigger pre made cables or go to some one who makes up cables an tell them what you want Most agricultural dealers and all automotive electrical stockists will do this Edited February 9, 2014 by cosrec
Lauren Child
????? order bigger pre made cables or go to some one who makes up cables an tell them what you want Most agricultural dealers and all automotive electrical stockists will do this Personally I found that they top out at 50mm2. For 6volt you really need 70mm2 or more. I made my own with a decent rated 70mm2 (650 Amp) cable and double-crimped connectors.

Lauren Child
Never seen a 6v one yet Maybe they're all 12V (with any luck). In that case there's nothing to worry about, commercial ones should be fine
