Richard Farrant
some thing a bit more modern December 1992 and how the layout of catalogues have changed Just seen this post Wally. The Ferret and Saladin that are shown listed as being at RAOC Rowcroft Barracks, that was on the same base as the REME Workshops, at Ashford, Kent. From memory the Ferret was one of those converted for use in Malaya with a deep collar on the top of the hull and turret on top, seem to recollect it had nothing inside and might have come from an Army Cadet unit for disposal. The Saladin, I was asked to inspect on behalf of the Tank Museum as they were looking for a good one, but they were disappointed as it had been used by REME TA for recovery training and had no decking on it and had been turned over many times. No idea who bought these though as they were on one of the early Ludgershall tender sales.
