Clocks go back...

Jack

Recommended Posts

Now remember boys and girls, when the "clocks go back", the "accident rate goes up"....RoSPA said so.

So another good idea there then.

Could someone just confirm for me if this was to do with the war effort :?

Don't forget............clocks go back this weekend

If you translate that into Spanish then back into English the message is:

"Not olvidarte that ............ they go the clocks this weekend behind"

If you then translate it into German then back into English the message is:

"Did not olvidarte ............ they follow the master clocks this weekend"

If you then translate this into Portugese then into French then into English you get:

"Olvidarte ............ N? seguiram the pulses of I draw from the Master this weekend"

So I shall go and draw my pulses from the Master then.

Well sure it was, we had DOUBLE SUMMER TIME then, just to make it even more confusing. A cunning plan indeed, when Jerry thought we were all having breakfast,........ really we were on our way to bomb the sh*t out him.

One of the reasons for the clocks going back was for the dairy farmers, it was so they could milk the cows in daylight instead of the dark mornings, but as they are now milked in barns with lighting etc, there goes one of the reasons.

WW1? or WW2 ? well a bit before really, 1784 infact.

But then of course we all had different ideas about when and indeed how. With the UK opting to alter its clocks 20 minutes per week over about a month.

Now I fancy that could be a good larf, and we should bring it back. Spice up an otherwise dull world.

Try this for the Full Monty : http://webexhibits.org/daylightsaving/c.html
