berna2vm
Hi all. Who is going to Saddleworth this August (12th 13th & 14th). Last year's event was fantastic in spite of all the knockers who attempted to sabotage it!!! I had a great time and the organisers wer incredibly friendly and helpful. They deserve our support. Hopefully i can be there with a vehicle if i can get something organised by then...i would love to actually drive in the convoy it seems to be a great atmosphere and its only round the corner from me so good to support my local event!!! mike
happydayz123
Hi John/Antar, Please explain wot "you clearly are not in the picture regarding this event" is all about!! I went last year speaking for myself only, it was the best biggest organised convoy with crowds to match iv'e ever been on.Hence i'll be trying to bring all my vehicles this year. berna2vm
The convoy was great fun and I had a fab day altogether. I probably don't understand the politics of the situation but the organisers were brilliant and I have never felt a welcome as warm as the one offered here anywhere before. If anyone wants a ride on Bernadette in the convoy just let me know because I don't want to be Billy no-mates this year!!!:embarrassed:

owenmi01
I wonder if this event may be at risk this year...Just seen in the local paper that the usual location which is a school playing field and running track is to be subject to 12 months drainage work starting at the end of June... Further to this the field will loose the running track to increase the number of football fields so will mean a grass track will only be available Not sure if they are going to want lots of military vehicles using a grass track...rather than the existing shale track. Anyone know who runs this event and if there is plans for another location... Mike

berna2vm
I am looking forward to this event, even more so since I realised that there are many events that I will not be able to attend because of the better half booking boring holidays etc and interfering with my hobby.... Anyone else definately going?
berna2vm
Really looking forward to this one now. It should be great, it is based at the school this year and is a special one because it is the tenth anniversary of it's existance. It is my favourite event in the north of England (Yorkshire ?).It has lots of character in a charming part of the world. Who is coming ?:-)
owenmi01
I will be attending both days as its my local event beng only about 2 miles away from me... I bumped in the organiser at another event recently ( i forget his name thou and he is keen for the convoys to be bigger than ever...Last year he says there was approx 95 vehicles and as its the 10th Anniversary he is keen to get 100 vehicles for the convoy... I have only ever been as a spectator before but really enjoyed the event with the atmosphere being really good...Hopefully it will be just as good if not better at Saddleworth school... Anyone else going...it would be great to put faces to a few names being very new to this MV thing. cheers Mike
berna2vm
He is called Paul and an extremely nice chap. Nothing was too much trouble for him and it is a very friendly event. My commemerative mug from last year got broken and he has found me another :-).

timbo
Is this still on ? Who is going ? Berna, Toolman ? Would be up for a convoy from Hudds if you fancy it - if I take a CVRT though it will need to be a slow one - on the uphills anyway ! Toolman
Is this still on ? Who is going ? Berna, Toolman ? Would be up for a convoy from Hudds if you fancy it - if I take a CVRT though it will need to be a slow one - on the uphills anyway ! I'd love to go but I'm off to Alderney on the 13th for a week. I think it clashes :-( We'll just have to convoy round hudds instead at a later date :-)
