question FH 70 Howitzer

Hi Guys

Does anyone know were i can get bits for my FH 70 , I am looking for / Points/HT Leads/Distibutor cap or a complete engine for spares even, and all so Master cylinder rubbers in fact anything for an FH70

Have you tried Banisters ? Search some of the threads for more info. He's usually pretty good. I thought the engine was VW derived so maybe VW parts dealer..?

Providing its not fitted with screened ignition I thought it was a standard VW engine as well.

 

The Master Cylinder parts are also likely to be standard items as well. Presumably there are part numbers on them and possibly the manufacturer.

Its a VW 1800cc industrial engine so shouldn't be a spares problem. Its all teh O rings and grommets and widgets for the oil drive that cost.

Many Thanks to all for your imput on my fh 70

There are numbers and a marking on the master cylinder but i have lost me glasses and i couldnt see a thing so i thought i will use my moby on video mode ???? but only to find i couldnt see the damm button to put it in to video mode so i am going up this weekend armed with a pair of glasses.

On the fh 70 the ignition system is 24 volt and as most car electrics are 12 volt would the coil/condenser/points/ect be ok from normal car parts ( would it handle 24 volt ) i suppose there is only one way to find out and that is to try it .
