Markheliops
Hi all. Wonder if you knowledgable people can point me in the right direction. I am after some fastners to attached a penthouse cover to the Brockhouse trailer. This is what it will look like - hopefully. The roof section is attached via a strip which is inturn attached by a series of fastners which I believe are called "common sense" fastner or "twist lock" fastner. They are quite heavy duty and here are some pictures showing what I need. Sorry for the quality but I only had my mobile phone with me. I need the other attachment that goes with the above as shown below. Measurements are as follows: Measurements are about 1 inch from pin hole to hole and about half an inch wide. If anyone knows where I can get these please let me know. Many thanks. Markheliops Edited February 12, 2010 by Markheliops
Tony B
Try your local saddler. They may know a supplier. But surley that sortof thing would be our beloved Leader's domain?
sirhc
Are these any good Mark? http://www.woolies-trim.co.uk/c-60-turnbuckles.aspx
snowtracdave
Do you have a car trimmer nearby ? What you show is the same as the tonneau fasteners on my Falcon ute so that would seem like a good place to try .
antarmike
I am pretty sure you can get them mail order from "Woolies"
paul connor
I think the correct term for them is "turn buttons"

Markheliops
Thanks for the info chaps but I'm not too sure the items mentioned are heavy duty enough. The fastners mentioned so far seem to be for soft top and tent canvas applications - I don't think they will take the weight. Will contact wollies and see what they have to say. brinv8
How many are you after, as I have 10 brass NOS ones sitting on my desk. Just waiting for camera battery to charge, so I can show. These are/were for fitting jeep side screens, so maybe a little more heavy duty than modern ones. Brian

Markheliops
Hi all - thanks for the info given on fastners - supplies are being arranged. Another question in relation to this project - In the picture of the Brockhouse (start of the thread) - you can see the poles I need. I have measurements etc but can not seem to find a company willing to make these poles - Does anyone know of a company who can manufacture such poles. Many thanks Markheliops

Markheliops
Hi mate. I'll give you a tinkle tomorrow Jack - I was going to go for steel poles but if I can get away with wood - it may be the way to go. Many thanks.
