commander
I personally can not see the sense in this if I was a stall holder the last thing I would want is for an auction to be running on one of the days joe public can't be in 2 places at once if he is bidding then he can not be browsing the stalls just my opinion Commander
Bodge Deep
I suspect a lot of stuff will fail to reach reserve Seller thinks "Thats rare" Buyer thinks "There's a pile of them over there for a fiver each!!"
chevpol
cant see the problem, a lot of sream engine shows have auctions, in fact, a lot of the items in the auction usually end up on a traders stall sometime after the auctions Mark
Topdog
Well, to be honest, I was ripped by a dealer on a large item. Didnt realise at the time. It would have made a lot more in auction.
rambo1969
I think they did something simular a few years back, a load of stuff in metal cages I seem to remember.
commander
Well, to be honest, I was ripped by a dealer on a large item. Didnt realise at the time. It would have made a lot more in auction. It might have made more in an auction but you take your chance in a auction sometimes they go for peanuts and sometimes they do not sell at all at least you got your money there and then from the dealer and I'm sure he didn't twist your arm to sell it to him you must have been happy at the time with the price at the time just think everytime you buy a bargain someone else sells it below it's true value Commander

Exactly what I was saying everytime you buy a "real bargain" Commander
ArtistsRifles
It should prove interesting - to say the least - to see what is up for sale and what the reserve prices are set at!!
robin craig
I seem to remember in 1997 or thereabouts there was an auction done at the show, so this is not new. There were a lot of items that did not sell at that time. Robin
Great War truck
I remember a lot of harry Pounds stuff was brought up and sold there. Dont think it made very good prices. But at least it released some MV's on to the market. Tim
early british ww2
This may be a welcome return as there have been auctions at War and Peace before - Many may remember the auction back in the early 90's which seemed to go down ok - I don't remember how much sold but there seemed to be a good selection of vehicles to whet the appetite . I have been to a few auctions over the years at various Steam Fairs up and down the country and even bagged a few bits and yes even the traders had a good time as someone else has said on here - Only to see "said" items for sale on their stalls the day after . Could be interesting ? ... Only time will tell ... Roll on 2010 and hopefully some decent weather for once!!! :coffee:

Richard Farrant
Anybody heard anything more about this, or is it cancelled??? A few months ago a friend contacted the auctioneers about entering a vehicle in the sale. He was told there was very little interest. on checking the auctioneers website last week, there is no mention of the sale.
Marmite!!
I've been told it was canceled due to lack of interest..
Bob Grundy
I was interested......... I was to put a vehicle in this auction, they knew about it but could not be bothered to let me know that it was to be cancelled. I had to phone up and find out what was happening, that was when I was informed, not best pleased.
