Hello all, My name is Clive Law and I am a "wannabe" Mil motorcycle owner. Just need to find the right bike here in Canada. Ideally a Norton as this was the make most used by the Canadian Army, along with the prohibitively priced Harley-Davidson WLC.

I am the webmaster of a site dedicated to the Ram tank http://www.ramtank.ca and I run a small publishing firm called Service Publications which has a vehicle series called "Weapons of War" http://www.servicepub.com/weapons.html. This series examines the vehicles, artillery and other artefacts used by the Canadian Army, from a uniquely Canadian perspective.

As an unrepentant researcher, with easy access to the National Archives, I came across many lists of WD numbers assigned to Canadian vehicles. Combined with my interest in Canadian Military Vehicles and the Ram tank in particular, the idea of establishing a web-site was a natural. The catalyst was a request for WD data on the Maple Leaf Up forum. The entire project only took about three weeks to finish and most of that was in the typing.

Although I have managed to identify every Kangaroo, BARV, ARV, Wallaby and OP Ram used by the Canadians, I have not been as successful with the Kangs used by the British 49th Armoured Personnel Carrier Regiment. I would be grateful for data and images of these.

On an aside, I am currently researching a book on the acquisition, use and disposal of motorcycles in the Canadian Forces, from 1908 to the present. Near completion, the book now runs 120 pages and will include over 300 illustrations, including a photo of a Harley-Davidson mounting a Maxim MG in a sidecar. This was assembled by the 90th Regiment, later the Royal Winnipeg Rifles, and brought to Camp in 1908.
