  1. An article, in two parts, on the 15-cwt truck has been posted on MilArt, an an-line magazine. These can be found at http://www.servicepub.wordpress.com Click on 'Vehicles' on the top menu bar. Clive
  2. Take a look at http://www.karkeeweb.com/ If you don't see it shown there they may be able to identify it. Clive

  4. Over the years my website - RamTank.ca - has grown. In addition to the Ram tank (and it's variants; Sexton, Kangaroo, etc...) there are now sections on Churchills, Centurions, Ferrets, Iltis, M-series and much more. I have recently discovered a collection of 800 photos of Canadian vehicles, between 1959 and 1996, that I will be uploading. Please feel free to visit. http://www.RamTank.ca Clive
  5. How strange. I run Chrome also but it never did that to me before. C
  6. Close. I have images of 82585 and 82587. These can be seen at http://ramtank.ca/ferret.htm Its last unit is shown as the 12e Regiment Blinde du Canada (12th Canadian Armoured Regt) but irreverently known as 12 Rubber Boot Coy. The other Clive
  7. Two images of a porpoise undergoing towing trials behind a bulldozer. Cheers, The other Clive
  8. My log-in notice told me that my password had expired 1140 days ago so I guess it has been a while since I last posted. My name is Clive Law and I am located in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. I run a small publishing firm (http://www.servicepub.com) that specializes in titles on Canadian military artifacts. Part of my publishing program includes the Weapons of War series; 24-page booklets consisting of 6500-7000 words of original research, 23 images and a set of 1:35 scale drawings. Each title addresses a different vehicle or artillery piece. Clive (aka servicepub)
  9. I am looking for a high resolution, colour, photo of a properly restored CMP Machinery Lorry for use as the cover image of an upcoming booklet. Please let me know if you can assist. http://www.servicepub.com/weapons.html Cheers, Clive
  10. As an unrepentant researcher, with easy access to the National Archives, I came across many lists of WD numbers assigned to Canadian vehicles. Combined with my interest in Canadian Military Vehicles and the Ram tank in particular, the idea of establishing a web-site was a natural. The catalyst was a request for WD data on the Maple Leaf Up forum. The entire project only took about three weeks to finish and most of that was in the typing. Although I have managed to identify every Kangaroo, BARV, ARV, Wallaby and OP Ram used by the Canadians, I have not been as successful with the Kangs used by the British 49th Armoured Personnel Carrier Regiment. I would be grateful for data and images of these. On an aside, I am currently researching a book on the acquisition, use and disposal of motorcycles in the Canadian Forces, from 1908 to the present. Near completion, the book now runs 120 pages and will include over 300 illustrations, including a photo of a Harley-Davidson mounting a Maxim MG in a sidecar. This was assembled by the 90th Regiment, later the Royal Winnipeg Rifles, and brought to Camp in 1908.
  11. I have established a Ram tank reistry at http://www.ramtank.ca If you have photos or other information on any of these (really short of data on the Rams that went to British Service) please feel free to contact me. Clive (the other one)
  12. Hello all, My name is Clive Law and I am a "wannabe" Mil motorcycle owner. Just need to find the right bike here in Canada. Ideally a Norton as this was the make most used by the Canadian Army, along with the prohibitively priced Harley-Davidson WLC. I am the webmaster of a site dedicated to the Ram tank http://www.ramtank.ca and I run a small publishing firm called Service Publications which has a vehicle series called "Weapons of War" http://www.servicepub.com/weapons.html. This series examines the vehicles, artillery and other artefacts used by the Canadian Army, from a uniquely Canadian perspective.
