  1. Thats a beauty! Can you expand on the colour scheme etc?
  2. And everyday recently! Grundons WW1 Pearce Arrow is now displayed in the reception of their new offices in Benson, Oxon. It is an ex car showroom so ideal! Their 30's Albion refuse truck is there too.
  3. Not to worry, thanks for looking. Is it a semi gloss paint of some sort?
  4. That would be great, much obliged.
  5. Good idea! What sort of paint is it and brushed or sprayed? Looks really nice!

    shaef

Any opinions or hard evidence of what vehicles were used by shaef itself? I wondered whether it would be 'believable' to mark my Vauxhall 10 as a staff / liason vehicle with Shaef emblem? I assume if so it would just carry the Shaef shield and no other div markings. It will of course be fitted with regulation headlamp masks and probably white bumpers. All opinions welcome!
  7. Looks great! Can I ask who's paint you used and what shade? I have a Vauxhall to paint as a staff car. Cheers.
  8. Tomas, beautiful truck! Can I ask what the colour is?
  9. All the very best for Sunday, a fantastic achievement. As a Dennis fan I will be with you in spirit by getting my old lady out of hibernation!
  10. I think it may be off a post war Auxiliary Fire Service vehicle, probably an RL or S type bedford.
  11. Thats the one! Glad its being kept an eye on.
  12. A few years ago I had to go to Paignton regularly. On the main road on the outskirts was a large layby with a transport cafe mounted up on a bank. It was a chalet type building built on a solid tyred chassis - cant say if it was military but wondered if anyone knows anything about it and if its still there.
  13. There was someone with a Dennis F8 fire engine converted (B61).
  14. Not too bad, front seats are a bit tatty. Although not a 'real' MV should I start a restoration thread?
  15. I think you're right itwas a Wolesey. Anyone help with my (many) questions???
  16. Cant promise anything, but pm a phone number I will pass it on to someone renting a barn in Basingstoke if thats anygood.
  17. A credit to the owner and the restorer!. Dont want to hijack the thread, but WD40 on a rag seems a good tip, is this common?
  18. I collect the above next weekend. My plan is to restore 'her' as a staff car. Whilst I am starting some research myself any assistance/opinions very welcome. As its 1939 I believe it would probably be finished in Mid Bronze green. Is this correct? How likely would such a vehicle have been then repainted later in the war to ie Micky Mouse camo? I will also need a believable 'M' serial number. I will probably finish her as a vehicle of 5th Regt Royal Horse Atillery (family connection) who were with the BEF then 7th Armoured. Any pointers to correct markings? All these questions and I havent even got her home yet! I am just keen to get it right rather than be corrected when the restoration is done! And I've never done a Brit MV before. Cheers Paul.
  19. Nice to see her again, as an ex owner! Incidently, my in laws used to own the Dennis she's next to in the pic - small world!
  20. I was asked, as an ex owner, if a K2 chassis number is stamped in the chassis anywhere, as the brass plate is missing. Any ideas?
  21. A friend of mine wants to sell an ex Hampshire FB A reg Dennis, needs some work though. Also has a VERY smart Goddess to sell. May list in classifieds for him?
  22. Thanks gents, will have to see how things go. Although a basket case can be costly to restore, it is spread over time, and I do enjoy the challenge. To answer Tony B I am in Berks.
  23. I do not currently have an MV, and really miss it. Like much of the country I am also 'feeling the pinch'. With the MV movement being so popular and with so many dealers, is it still possible to find and restore a vehicle on a budget for someone who is not afraid to take on a 'basket case' Basicaly, are finds and bargains particulary wartime vehicles but MVs in general still out there do you think?
  24. Nice find, what are your plans for it?
