  1. Hi Ian it is for a rather ugly indicator light.
  2. Finally a some real progres. I was not entirely happy with the rust repair that was done on my cab, so I have started to repair some of it my self, having taken some lessons in welding and also using a lathe and milling machine. I am quite happy with the result of my first welding repair, I will still have to work a bit with the settings of the MIG welder, to avoid to much spatter and burning through The last picture is before.
  3. I started out with the Airfix Morris FAT, at age 7, and now look where it got me :cool2:
  4. Sadly no, I am a bit slow. I am having a new mounting bolt for the rear of the cab made, and have started to weld the final parts of cab. When the weather gets better I will sand blast the remaining parts.
  5. Thanks John I will have to think hard about this one.... I think this would have had civilian gauge, but they might have been change during its post war millitary usage in Norway. I have seen it running and driving, back in 95 (when I was child and could stand underneath its front wings), and the valve was the reason it got parked. Its by the way chassis number 00007
  6. Thanks John All the body pieces schould be there from what I could tell. The door handles where there but I could/would not open the doors to check it inside due to the hinges. Does the fact that it has a very low chassis number effect the price, or is it just a fun fact.
  7. Hi I am looking for at bit of advice. What is a VERY VERY early Diamond T 969 closed cab worth. I have been offered the one hidding in the picture. It has been standing in the same spot since 95, it is complet and most of the recovery gear is pressent. The head has been off the engine as it has burnt a valve seat. The cab seems to be in good shape still with no rot that I could see around door bottoms, windows and edges. the door hinges, battery compartment door and some of the parts on the wrecker body where rough and rotten. Is the Floor of the wrecker body wood or metal? as I am bit worried that it might be very bad as it was full of rotting leaves. Cheers
  8. Or as new type of weapon, dropping AFV hulls on the enemy....
  9. Its just to compensate for the Scammells lack of speed.....
  10. It is powered by a 38L V12 diesel, water cooled with 500hp at 1800 rpm,I think it is started by compressed air and it is called V2. Here is a service manual for the T34 in English. http://www.allworldwars.com/T-34%20Tank%20Service%20Manual.html
  11. It is actually a bit hard to find a running reasonable T34 for less than 25000£. They are not in plently supply like a T55 are and they now know in eastern countries that there is a market for them.
  12. Hi Lance http://www.perthmilitarymodelling.com/reviews/books/wow/wow032.html there might be more
  13. Welcome Nice to see another pioneer heading for preservation. Is it the one from ebay? Cheers Niels
  14. Nice looking as allways, do you by any chance have a spare of the spring system for the rear hatch. I like the detail with the hatch for the master cylinder, will copy that....
  15. Its the same type as the one on my Thornycroft Amazon
  16. The drivers foot rest: its 22cm long, 9 cm wide, 2 cm thick, at the rear its 13 cm of the floor and at the front its 15.5 cm high. The sheet metal, that holds it, is about 3 mm thick and its 5 cm wide.

  20. Hi Ed your welcome, I forgot the foot rest for the throttle pedal, I will take a picture of it in the weekend. Cheers Niels
  21. Hi Ed Have a look here http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?11476-Another-Pioneer/page18&highlight=jimH and in my Danish Pioneer the floorboards are 2 cm thick, and they vary in depth, (in the passenger side) the first nearest the bulkhead is 15,7 cm, then #2 15 cm #3 15 cm #4 21,7 cm #5 23,4cm #6 nearest the rear of the cab is 26,5 cm deep. All the floor boards I think what you call edges squars, if that means that the boards are a Rectangle, I have attached pictures to show it. I cant say exactly what the boards are made of but, ist problerly not oak ore ash, it feels fairly light in weight and is not very hard. The floor is made up of 3 "sections" passenger side, center and drivers side, meaning that the bords are not the full width of the cab and you can remove the section above the gearbox to get to it. I have made a drawing of the different fittings made of wood that there are on the cap floor. The things on the drawing are placed, the positition can be seen in the pictures. #1 is in front of the passenger seat, just behinde the fuel filters. (for the starting handel) #2 is just when you step in to the vehicle, in the door opening, I think that there have been one just like it in the drivers side also. #3 is to the left side of the passenger seat (crow bar) #4 is in the left rear corner of the cab #5 is to the right of the drivers seat next to the cabinet.
