  3. Hi Well most of us have a methode for keeping rust off the metal on our vehicles. But I was wandering what people do to keep wood parts of the vehicle from rotting or drying out? I spend my saturday, brushing the lockers, floor and every other woodenpart that I could on my Scammell Pioneer, with linseed oil mix 1:1 with turpentine. The vertical wooden surfaces on the rear body are painted, but the not the floor and horisontal surfaces. In some places the wood was so dry it sucked olie instandly from the brush when it touched it. Linseed oil do not offer any protection, on its own, aginst fungi, to do this it has to mixed with pine tar. I use the oil with out the tar because my Scammell is stored in doors so there is not much need for fungus protection. But what do you guys out there use for preserving the wood, painted/unpainted?
  4. Yes Denmark had a lot of war time vehicles in storage, but these where sold out late eighties early nineties. The same goes for Norway.
  5. As fare as I know the batteries was in the cabinet on the floor to the right of the driver. And it used 4 six volt batteries
  6. Congratulations, it looks very well.
  7. If you not are going to weld on it, you could maybe give it a clear coat of varnish.

  13. I read some where with regards to vintage Bentleys, where saloons frequently are butchered to make Le Mans replicas. That they are considered, originals if the chassis, and drive train are original. sadly I cant find the link. Personally I dont like to alter post war modifications on my vehicles except when I can find a original replacement part, because I will always know that it was made by me and not in periode.
  14. I got it from a historian, sadly I dont know his source. but if he was in hamburg, then Denmark isnt fare off.
  15. Here is one in Danish service the 9th of april 1940 The same gun a little later after being run over by a German armoured vehicle, it had knock out two vehicles and de-tracked a tank before it was overrun. The gun still exist in a museum. In German service in 1944 in Denmark. Water crossing during training with the Danish brigade in Sweden and some in Danish service in 1945, this one arrived with the Danish brigade from Sweden, just after the liberation The Danish brigade war issued with Swedish equipment and vehicles and brought with them a small number of the 37mm Bofors guns What year is the gun, because I find it hard to belive that a Danish gun schould have ended up in British service, because as fare as I can find the danish guns where build in Denmark under lincens at Danish state arsenal Hærens Vaabenarsenal. The pictures are all from the Museum of Danish Resistance's archives http://erez.natmus.dk/FHMbilleder/Site/
  16. If you are referring to this picture, its taken outside Copenhagen around the 8th of May 1945 when the first regular british troops arrived.
