  1. Thanks Chris, protected with AV prog in place, just ran a malware scan and found a couple of dodgy things, that AV prog didn't find, hope that's fixed it!
  2. Wow! that's got to be the loudest picture I've ever seen, looks even louder than it was at the time..:-D Our dog has never been so pleased to get safely home...:shake:
  3. You may be on to something there Tony, gawd 'elp us!
  4. Keep getting these pop-ups with a really annoying womans voice, which I ignore and close, does any one else get them and if so where do they come from?
  5. Words are written in the red bars, then the bars are bent to fit inside the green circle, and this is how the templates for Blackpool rock are made...
  6. Don't you just love those useful comparisons used by journos and presenters.. The tank weighs the same as 11 elephants and can fit up to four crew members which is great because I've been trying to work out how many all week....:nut:
  7. A great friendly show with the added attraction of the excellent Camp Display, which is well worth the visit. Paul was in charge of Rugged Robin for the duration, here is a vid of him giving it a last good thrash around right at the end of the show before I prized the keys from his clenched fist.. :-D Sorry about the wind noise... [video=youtube_share;ySU1Zr7x-2A]
  8. Well the wind was so strong my that attempt at standing upright and shooting a video was a mess, so I hope these pix are OK for those who need a Vulcan fix... On the way home we passed a bloke in a big coat trying to coast down hill against the wind on a bicycle, he was almost going backwards..
  9. Nice work and great write up.. from a fellow sufferer of 'tape measure fatigue syndrome'
  10. I think both are seen here as being the same thing. Seems to me that saying like/thanks for just one post in a thread does a lot of good for both parties, it does not affect the content of the thread, it is a bit like the on line equivalent of nodding in agreement during a real world speech or conversation.
  11. We've been here before...:-D http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?27789-LIKE-button&highlight=button
  12. I was a van living hippy for 18 months in my yoof, and believe me any non-flued gas/parafin fuelled heat sources such as a catalytic heater or Tilley lamp will put out a lot of moisture, this can make your bedding much damper than it was before you warmed it, you may feel snug but you may suffer a bit of extra stiffness in the morning after a few nights! I know we're talking flappy tents here but believe me arthritis in your twenties isn't funny! Wood stoves and dry radiant heat make for happy campers..
  13. This Saturday! At approximately 3.30pm - watch the display over Hastings seafront by Vulcan XH558 in its final flying season. Make sure you leave plenty of time & pop down early to do a bit of shopping whilst waiting for one of the last chances to see this incredible aircraft since its original restoration 6 years ago. http://www.vulcantothesky.org/appearances.html See y'all there..:goodidea:
  14. Well it raised a few eyebrows....
  15. My Scammell Explorer fitted with a 290hp Cummins L10 diesel is doing at least 10 mpg by my rough reckoning, I haven't done a brim to brim test as this would take 148 galls... Due to the low gearing and excess power, only a very light foot is ever needed... A Diesel conversion does not always have to be expensive, buying a donor vehicle, keeping the bits you need and parting out the rest of it, selling your old engine and any spares you have can keep costs down. If you do the work yourself then you are quids in, after doing mine I was out of pocket around £120 ish..:-D
  16. I was going to say remember to take off against the wind Jack...but there's no need as you never take the easy option..:-D
  17. I have to stay out of earshot from punters looking at the Rugged Robin because my face and sides ache too much if I listen for too long..
  18. And here are some Austrian soldiers building field bread ovens to cook their bread in. I do hope it tasted good, bet it was cold up in those hills
  19. How about a chip butty? almost potato bread..
  20. Richard you're way too good, it is potato flour! " The scarcity of wheat and other grain in central Europe has led to the free use of potato flour in the manufacture of bread in Germany and Austria, how the enemy produce this is interesting." November 1915 Why they didn't just make Smash I don't understand. As Clives brain seems to be less affected by contact adhesive fumes than mine I'll probably be leaving these things to him from now on! :red:
  21. No but for the life of me I can't think why not!
  22. Richard, you are correct! How very embarrassing, somehow I missed your answer, please accept my grovelling apologies, the potato is indeed the raw material. But what is the resulting product, where and when and for whom? These questions still remain unanswered..
  23. No wheat involved, but that is a big clue....
