  1. We are pleased for you... and while you're contemplating them, think 900 x 16 bar grips, now that's proper military!!
  2. Thanks for all the info chaps, Tom, you really did have a nice day for it, I enjoyed the video.. Hope it's OK I tweeked this still from it a bit.
  3. That is so true Ray, well said, and I think that is probably as good a way as any of ending what has been an interesting, but increasingly circular discussion. Thanks for your input folks, I have learned a lot, but more reading is required me thinks. :-D
  4. Think I'm going to make a few calls to see if we come up with the same answers....what are the chances of that happening?
  5. Not a task made easy by those who seem to begrudge us our rights Degsy, that's for sure...just when it seems sorted you come up against the same requirement for a medical. Please let us know chapter and verse on how you get through the process, we need to know this stuff once and for all.
  6. I knew someone would put my thoughts into words better than I could, thanks.
  7. Yeah... them lambs will take your head off as soon as you offer them a rubber teat! And so would I ..:angry

  10. Hopefully John will come up with the correct manual, if not if could you narrow your requirements down to specific areas, that would be make things much easier.
  11. No extra changes needed, apart from traffic stops we don't expect to make any at all, gear changing with a Cummins has become a redundant art......
  12. Yep, things are looking good so far, Forceful's straining at the leash already, even though it's an extra 15 miles further from home now! :drive:
  13. About that black plastic unloader pipe, it connects into the air system pipe work, not quite sure how but as I understand it, when up to pressure it lifts the valve in the compressors head so it runs light when up to pressure, to save power, fuel and wear. When I fitted the Cummins into Forceful it was all too complicate to incorporate this, due to confusing the original unloader valve on the air tank, so I just connected the compressor discharge pipe as per original, so now the compressor runs full time like the original and excess air is wasted to atmosphere through the tank valve. These compressors can produce a lot of carbon which can block the discharge pipes etc. so best to have a look before connecting up. No problems so far, just my way of doing as fewer mods as possible, keeping it simple.. I have a manual for Cummins L10 engines and many things are similar, if you need a scan of relevant pages just ask.
  14. Steve, what you call mind numbing is actually mind expanding to us sitting at home, it allows us to properly cogitate the problems knowing all the relevant facts have been revealed, so when the next installment appears we are right there with you and can nod sagely or wow in admiration, whichever is appropriate!:thanx: Bernard
