  1. Maybe you could talk to the local police although in my experience they often find the DVLA's rules just as confusing as the rest of us. You could print off what you have found and ask them for clarification but if in doubt get anything they say in writing :-D I was led to believe new drivers could not tow any trailer without another test obviously this now appears not to be the case. Good Luck :-)
  2. A lad I worked with passed his test a few years back and I am sure he had to take a test just to tow a small trailer for work. You can check the latest by going on the DVLA website.
  3. More than a restored one or so I'm told, it's near Folkingham, Lincolnshire. Be careful they do not encourage visitors
  4. We should be able to start a " Compulsory Purchase" scheme for things like this, twenty plus years ago I enquired about a nice Frogeye Sprite that was sitting on someone's drive going green with mould, I was polite and merely asked if it was for sale for restoration, the owner threw a fit and told me to leave, I watched that lovely car turn to dust over the years until eventually it was shovelled up and taken for scrap, well what was left of it was. :-( Why do people do it ? :banghead:
  5. Yes I heard that the owner was a little ambitious with his valuations
  6. I think I know where they are but was told nothing was for sale is that correct ?
  7. I've had both a jeep and a tractor radiator done fairly recently both were around the £180 mark. I don't know if that helps Someone is going to post that they can get them done for £50 and ruin my day now
  8. I thought just recently the prices seemed to have dropped a little, there has been several nice reasonably priced jeeps advertised just lately. There's plenty of projects coming in, which is the easiest way into jeep ownership if you're on a tight budget, that way you can do bits as and when funds allow.
  9. Where do I find Gordon's forum ? The mud on mine is from it's trip to the Ardennes this year seems a shame to wash it off too
  10. Thanks a lot, much appreciated. I have contacted them so hopefully will hear back shortly, will keep you posted
  11. Yes in it's working clothes just how I like them. I do not intend to paint it but after Normandy I will waxoil the chassis etc. This truck has all its original data plates etc so quite a find I think. Does anyone here know if the build cards are still available through the Chrysler Museum ?
  12. Thanks Chris, The V5c arrived yesterday (Friday) exactly 5 days start to finish ! Without your help it wouldn't have been possible
  13. I think the general census of opinion is to leave the weapons behind and go and enjoy what our fathers and grandfathers fought for, FREEDOM,
  14. Welcome to the HMVF, any particular vehicle in mind when you get one ?
  15. Thanks Tony, I will get the wife to sort it she's the computer buff
  16. I agree, it's not worth it, the 70th is about the veterans and what they achieved why worry about spoiling your holiday by carrying weapons. If the police turn funny you could spend most of your break filling in forms in a police station. The vehicles are enough for most. :-D
  17. This is just a HUGE thank you to everyone for the advice especially Chris and Roger from the MVT who put up with me pestering them and sorted my Dodge inspection/verification so quickly. I was worried that I had left things too late to get my recent purchase road registered and fit for the Normandy 70th celebrations but with their invaluable advice everything went smoothly and the DVLA surpassed themselves in processing my application in three days ! Once again a huge thank you to these MVT members for their help and advice they are a credit to the MVT and work tirelessly without pay to help us all. If you both make it to Normandy or any event for that matter come and find me I owe you a beer or three.:thanx:
