  1. My first thought was as suggested "transfer box in neutral". Easily done by catching the lever when getting out. If the main lever appears to select all gears normally this would be my first check, then if the transfer box is not the culprit try engaging 4wd IF the vehicle then moves it could be a rear half shaft broken. Hopefully it's just the transfer box in neutral though :-D
  2. Welcome Ian, sounds like an interesting project
  3. Did you fill in the V55/5 form to register the bike ? Is so you should have put its taxation class as "Historic". Chris Brooks on here is the MVT man you need to speak to regarding anything registration related he can help I'm sure. It should be straightforward if the paperwork is all in order. You need valid insurance done on its frame number and your dating certificate, a completed V55/5 (available from DVLA), and proof of identification etc. The V55/5 tells you all you need. I found if you obey the guidelines to the letter DVLA are usually fine. Good Luck.
  4. Is your bike already registered as Historic ? If so you merely need to insure and tax it stating MOT exempt, although it is "tax exempt" you still have to tax it either at the Post Office or online but have nothing to pay. This changes slightly in Oct when the need to actually display a tax disc ends. If your bike is not yet registered you will need a dating certificate from a DVLA approved source before you can claim exemption.
  5. I think Wally Duggan on here is the man to ask about the vehicles from Beverley he is a mine of information.
  6. I freed an old tractor engine off that had seized solid with a mixture of diesel and would you believe Coca Cola Dread to think what Coke does to your insides but it certainly freed my engine ! Leave it for a week and be gentle when you try to move things as you have found it is easy to cause more damage. Are you sure the engine is not full of water and hydraulic locked ? Water will lock an engine solid. Good Luck.
  7. Happy Anniversary :flowers:
  8. Fantastic photo's thanks for posting :saluting:

  10. Used one on my jeep, couldn't tell ANY difference, removed it and looked inside virtually nothing in it ! Save your money
  11. As I have the much hated jeep judging by the view on here, it seems pointless by boring everyone by showing another one. I do the shows for my enjoyment and to meet old friends and possibly meet new ones.
  12. I hope he is soon home safe and sound, my thoughts are with all concerned :saluting:

    Congratulations to all
  14. I have had issues with NGK plugs in the past, after talking to my local garage I was told they found them more suitable for more modern ignition systems and they did seem to fail more on older points type systems. I use NGK in all my modern bikes no trouble but on the older stuff I tend to use Champion if possible. The NGK plug tends to like a powerful spark often more consistent with CDI units.
  15. Hi there, Try and post some pictures on here, someone may recognise it and advise you better then. Sounds interesting
  16. Welcome to the HMVF Josh, from a fellow Fergi lover
