  5. Hi all, i have had visits to look at the collections in the hangers and the workshop areas as well as behind the fenced off areas and i am tending to think that people here belive there may hoards of hidden gems stored there, though some times they do i.e on one visit (sorry Brit armour guys) there was a nice origonal stug 111 with coating of zimmerite antimagnetic paste a quick inspection it appeared very origonal yet in the museum they had displayed a post war Finnish version as this one was going else wher for display. With this thought in mind i think you will find all what you call interesting armour in the reserve collections would most likely be on loan to other museums/collections, though a visit is well worth while and i for one would go again. 7. [quote name=If you need to tow heavy things and need to go off road then buy a Landcruiser or Landrover , anything else is just a compromise I must admitt when i brought my frontera ( after production ceased) and can`t really fault it for pulling power and nice to drive, it seemed at the time many of the 4x4 `s had a very low towing capability. Ashley

  12. Due to shortages of materials towards the end of the war it was quite commom place for Ersatz items to be proudced from inferior quality goods,to include leather belts/equiptment made from compressed cardboard, and as you mentioned vehicle cabs made ply or cardboard, i witness this many years ago as at the Trun scrapyard the border hedge rows had sections of these cabs in the brambles to form a fence. Ashley
