  1. Hi, the cardigan as far as i know was a `V `neck pullover (we had wartime dated one issued to us in the cadets in the early seventies) not that i have seen an origonal one for many years. though the middle east variety are more available. Ashley

Hi Mike, glad to hear all went well, but you still need to take it easy, i`ve had 2 of these operations, the second was under local anesthetic (but very strong) as the anethatist called in ill but both have finally reverted back to my problem of arteiral fibulation had my 5 cardioversion last week but i must admitt i dont think its worked ashley
  6. Also when they catch you they will confiscate your car and any artefacts fine you etc. when released you have to make your own way home.......on foot. Many years ago tried to warn a guy as he was dragging a vickers on its stand back to his car in full view of the local police as soon as he managed to get it into his van they pounced. Ashley

  8. Hi all as my origonal hospital appointment for minor surgery was for the 23/7/2011 i was licky to get it brought forward by one month so all going well i shall be there. Ashley

    Hi all just spent five glorious days in Normandy touring the sites to include Omaha beach ,Azaville (sp) battery the Iron Mike statue , Spitfire Bar to name just a few and also had permission to check out a V2 rocket base Ashley

Hi all here is one of my recently purchased 1947 Mercury Roadster built in Birmingham and used as a barrack bike hard work pedalling and even harder to stop with the brakes These cycles usually have the VEH serial number stamped on the frame stem below the saddle. For info you may just have to search the cycle collectors forums to gleam the odd bit of info. Wo2a, just check out your local carboot sale this is the most likley place to accquire an origonal Ashley PS anyone here have a carrier, kit, MK2 front (Lucas cyclo n010) ??

  22. I remember the museum at shrivenham holding an open day to restore the machine and intrested parties paid approx £3.00 in advance for entry........ only to be told that the visit had been cancelled on arrival at he camp :cry: Ashley

  24. Hi MB89, the size may be of a deterrant but on my german ww2 leather liners i usually apply very sparingly Vasaline to the leather and rub in to material. some times the leather may darken if you are heavy handed ......but returns to its natural fairly quickly. Ashley
