  1. A big fellow , just doesnt seem right to be empty and uncovered Oh and welcome to the forum Martian.
  2. Wonderful 1940's style image !
  3. Quite a good job on the trailer , new paint and new tires it looks ready for anything . Let Us know how its behaves out on the road or off road if that happens . Wonder if it will be bouncy or not .
  4. Great you had the right equipment for the job all around and took a few photo's to share with all of Us .
  5. Is it a case that there are too many veriations as in mark 1 mark 2 etc of too few Vehicles over on that side of the pond for someone to make a business making wiring harness's or are there other reasons ? Over here there are several outfits that make harness's complete with or without period correct connectors for American WWII vehicles which sadly are totally different .
  6. Another clip of the same group I posted earlier this one dated 2005 Something went wrong...
  7. Hoping for all the best for all of you , What sorts of things is the other half craving or is it too early to have those yet ?
  8. here you go with the Merry Macs Something went wrong...
  9. Welcome Robin you will need to post a few photo's of your APT's when you get the chance , not to worry if they look good enough to post Any condition is fine by Us.
  10. Welcome Charlie 1 Nice to have you here , as said above ownership not required , you already have the needed item to join , an interest in militaria aka the Green Disease it starts with sneeking off to read a book on obscure military hardware and once in a while thumbing through the hobby magazine at the news stand now and then . then it gets more serious with the buying and building of scale models in the more advanced stage the scale models drop from 1/78 to 1/16 and finally 1:1 so its only a matter of time how fast and how severe you condition gets .
  11. Yes you are correct I had not followed up on the link posted on the video it turns out this is a Military Vehicle club in Czechoslovakia the link http://www.klub-vm.eu/ If you have google's tool bar the translate page feature works very well and you can translate from Czech to a number of languages part of their front page The club focuses primarily on the rescue but the historical and contemporary military technology, cooperation with the Museum, the Army and the Czechoslovak Legionary community, and educational activities in the military history of our Republic. The emergence of the club and cooperation with the museum began in 1995. At that time there was only lit a bunch of enthusiasts. The legal personality of the club was only in 1998, registering at the Ministry of Interior
  12. While some people's bodies have a greater ability to handle a cocktail of multiable injections all at once , I dont't think that many really do .Some may be slower to react than others , can't be fun to experiance .
  13. Yes thats why I mentioned that this clip wasnt that clip . When it goes wrong its worth big bucks until it hits the ground at what ever 100 plus miles an hour and is transformed straight to scrap value.
  14. Found a great video of a verity of vehicles doing a bit of travel on and off road in winter and what looks like a bit of camping its dated 2003, thought others might enjoy the view . I know we are ready for spring but good video none the less. Something went wrong...
  15. Found a site all about music , what the hits were and who sang them , the site is searchable by type and year . had a peek at what the 25 most popular songs for 1944 were in the USA. Perhaps there is a simular site for music in Great Britian ? .Do the re-inactors play period music at W&P when sitting by their Vehicles for example ? As G.I.'s would have been listening to the radio while in boot camp or in barracks in Great Britian .This is the site I visited , I m not connected to it in any way just giving credit www.popculturemadness.com 1944 - Pop Song Hits Most Requested Music 1. 16. some intersting views of how different payloads are dropped from aircraft , including low level extractions ...No this is not the blooper version. Watch how the last load lands almost perfectly on the road ! Something went wrong...
  17. Never would have thought someone would build something like that let alone a fleet of them ! perhaps they are for Clearing airport runways ?
  18. How simular was this system to those launchers mounted atop some Sherman tanks ?
  19. That is correct Richard . You'd think the spotters would have stopped it from unloading before it toppled , anything but let that happen . I m sure its not the only time something like that has happened , just the drivers bad luck to have it filmed .
  20. Sorry I m guilty of lumping things together . I ll need to strike myself with a rusty shovel from a 1944 Dodge WC while memorizing the proper military description for every item in the combined parts lists for all Dodges from 1940-1945 . :red: And while looking at photo's of APT's so I will not make that mistake again .
  21. I m sure it was a shock to find the engines in that state Adrian  AT least you uncovered it now , if they had been complete but not reassembeld to proper spec . say loose internal bolts or a bad oil pump how much worse it could have been to have one or both engines fail while running :wow:
  22. Hello Lynn sound like you are already very busy ! You must enjoy the hunt and searching for parts then ,I cant imagine ther being many Carriers down there to break for parts . Where do you general have any luck locating spares ? On the plus side with the advent of the WEB you can be any where and get most anything <for a price> sent anywhere ! Oh yeah and Welcome , Always like seeing what others are working on ,collecting .

    Bodges

Good Job getting those things sorted out "CORRECTLY" . Now you will know with each successful repair that your Vehicle is that much safer and reliable due directly to YOU ! It is sad how messed up things can get and others either dont know , yeah right! or even worse dont Care how they treat machinery. If there's an SPCA for animals there should be a SPBV society for the prevention of bodges to vehicles.
