  1. That had to be steep indeed. Hope there's no damage to that winch mount ?
  2. Thanks for sharing what kinds of things really did/do go on in military life and work at the work shops and else where behind the scenes.
  3. I recently purchased some dvd's from a chain of Video store going out of business . One of the dvd's I have found is on the link that martylee posted . Its "Dark Blue World " the movie is set at the outbreak of WWII in 1939 , it tells a story of a number of Czechoslovakian pilots who escape the Germans and make their way to Britian to join the RAF , The dialog is in Czech , German and English where needed with English subtitles . The scenes seem to be period correct , many vehicles and aircraft . Its a Sony pictures classic # 09273 . Give it a peek and I think you will like it .
  4. Feel free to ramble now and then , It's easier to write of things as you recall them at the time rather than trying to fit everything to a fixed timeline , and as Tony B . said "Ray, your childhood recollections are just as important! Fascinating mate, thanks for taking the time."
  5. Outstanding , You have done a very careful and detailed job and it shows.
  6. A remarkable find , I ve not seen one with that side armor before .
  7. just glad all is right once again !
  8. Well done , with at least good two coats of good paint to insure that there are no missed spots ,that should last for a very long time !
  9. I enjoy seeing what others have done in the modeling field , from scratch build to standard off the shelf kits and modified kits . I dabbled a small bit but didnt have the skill or the willingness to not rush things . Please keep going I m sure I m not alone in admiring your works.
  10. Welcome Bret , lots of intersting bit of machinery being loving restored all over this site , Enjoy your searches through all the threads , it will keep you busy for many a night to come .
  11. Looks great , You have a very nice Vehicle to be very proud of !
  12. Yes I have read that too . Might be some truth to it , I recall them saying that there were many remains of early stone buildings as such that point to people living there before the black sea submerged the area.
  13. Dont go getting rid of things just because you think their just duplicates or un-needed extras . You started with just enough parts . Take all the wonderful pain relief pills that good Doctors offer you , they never give you enough and they plan on you sleeping most of the time .
  14. Thank You for posting the links , He was quite a Pilot ! . Surely that says something about the training that those men went through just be for the war . He was the worst pilot but survived when the "better " ones did not !
  15. As far as I recall they are hinged so the headlite does rotate toward the engine, so they are at one point pointed downwards :-D:cool2:
  16. Thats ok deafmishka You didnt write anything wrong I read the meaning into it wrong . Of the ship wrecks you have dived what kinds of things have you found ? Did you take and photo's ?

  18. Welcome rah 1241 I m sure there are a number of different type of vehicles about for sale , its just a matter of how deep your pockets are . Pull up a crate and have a read through the threads related to what you looking for to get an idea of the good and bad point of each in the mean time .
  19. Not sure where best to post this clip since it includes British , American and German Wheeled and tracked armored Vehicles . Something went wrong...
  20. Welcome deafmishka , Sound like an interesting hobby to be diving in lakes, ponds and rivers looking for historical vehicles . Have you had much success ? what has happened to the ones you have found? have they be recovered for restoration or just for the scrap value?
