  1. There are very large emission control problems with a horse! :-D
  2. Along with the rest of the vehcile! :wow: Hey where did the Kliber's come from?
  3. Try riding horses! As for why proffesional drivers can se ething other can't. That why we are called 'Proffesional'!
  4. OOH NICE!! What's her history?
  5. Welcome Alister, no such thing as stupid questions. But we can give stupid answers.
  6. BL**DY HELL! I hope it was lined! :wow: Enough problem getting a plaster off! :nut:
  7. About £35 just to stick in an e mail saying these people have wasted a day. Remeber you now have to carry your licence when working to PROVE you don't need to have done the course whne issued. If you forget the VOSA **8 can send you home like a naughty boy to get it!
  8. Point of order! Met Police no longer issue tickets. In defence of METROPOLITAIN POLICE TRAFFIC WARDENS. Ther job is 'Safe, Free flow of traffic', ticket as last resort. Now the 'Local authorties' have control, 'Ticket anything it is a good scource of income'. I have two stories concerning Met Pol and parking. The first was when my son had been born thre months prem. I had got up to West London where he had been rushed to intensive care. I was sitting near the hospital sobbing my heart out because I couldn't find a place to park. A Met police officer came and asked what was wrong. I explained, she said right hang on. Got her radio talked to someone, then got her notebook out scribbled on it and passed me the note saying 'Leave the car there, I can give you four hours'. The second involved a weeding in the City wher ethe Bride and Groom rode to the church on horseback. First the Met Pol maounted branch gave us an escort. Second the box driver was told 'leave the box on the double yellow lines. Any problems tell them to contact the local cop shop.
  9. Land Rovers were all wired by plumbers. I knew one that the engine wouldn't stop while your foot was on the brake. Land Rovers are good to start with, then you move on to a Dodge.
  10. Ambulance and Haflinger? doubly welcome.
  11. OHHH don't start me on THAT film! :argh:
  12. Yep! Now you know why many , including me consider it a waste of space.
  13. Yes a problem I've come across. My son has the 'new' licence, I have the 'ancient' one. The 12 seat 10 seat Land Rover story was playing with the rules at the time. How come a 109 is a 'twelve' seat, but a 110 is a 'ten' seat? Actually to tow you will need D + E PCV plus trailer entitilment.
  14. Battle cruisers, Batle ships, Pocket Battleships. Remember the Washington Naval treaty. each side played games with words to comply.
  15. Actually the info comes from BHS, and there is a lot of knowledge concerning vehicles in the Society. The problem is as those of us with 'Aquired' rights decline. Bear i n mind you also need a aditonal E entilment to tow a horse box now. Most are around 915 kg unladen.
  16. Ah South African Sarecens? Now would those be the ones that in the early 1970's had engines rebulit by avation jersey , using parts from the Army supply depot at Aldershot? :cool2:
  17. The whole rigmarole at the moment is over rest! My suggestion, at least with the horseboxes, is an old trick. Stick a matteres in the Luton head and call it a 'camper'. This worked quite happily witha Bedford TK that actually had living accomadation and cooking facilities built into the container. It also carried three horses. Some big camper trucks are basically7.5 tonners so what will happen to those?
  18. PX1, sounds very similar to Co-cho-lin a red lanolin based preservative available at Saddlers. The stuff has ben around since Noah waterprioffed his sandals. sold for leather and guns,. Double cream rubbed in with a cloth is also a very useful leather restorer.
  19. The US Airforce Police used some on various bases. As I remember they were basic civillian finish. There was 'disquiet' voiced about armed forigns playing policeman, so MODPLOD do the visible policing. The Dutch and Belgians also used two wheel drive.
  20. Yes that's the beast. If it is your MAIN occupation. As usual how it quite works out no one knows. One of our enginners does the occasional service shift as overtime, he has to have a CPC, the rest of the guys in the workshop don't. What percentage of the job is driving? And is it 'in connection with your own or your employers buissness'?
  21. I think also the age limit has gone back down. It used to be 21 or three years minimum with a full driving licence. I think it has now gone back down to 18 years old.
  22. Cor!! and her flashing her ** :wow::wow::flowers::clap::yay:
  23. Welcome to the world's best green disiease treatment centre.
