  1. Beautiful photos! Just keep posting they really are exquisite
  2. The bike will be tested as manufactured. The exact exenptions for a bike I don't know. If any modern things such as indicators have been fitted, they must work.
  3. He also describes a tatty old flintlock as 'The sort of pistol used manily for duelling'. Eh, hem, Mister Expert! You'd have a hard job hitting anything playing Rusian Roullette with tha piece of **!
  4. Hi Martin, a TM is considered sane round here.
  5. The 'camera crew' seem to have a very god time round here. Not many untaxed vehicles about! Point is if the vehicle is on the road without tax, often there are other nastier little problems.
  6. The rubber coats were mainly made by Pytchley. Yes, I've worn them! Ever tried running in one across short heather after a bolting race horse with several pounds of lead in the pockets? What isn't obvious from the picture is the rear vent is very wide and long, but has buttons down it so that it can be closed up when walking. This allows it to spread back over the saddle, so the rain dosen't blow in up your a**. The long ones also have inside straps to hold the coat closed against the legs. The pockets are also cut much higher than a standard coat, above the waist. Because if you sitting on a horse, the coat will splay out from the hips down the horse. a lot of Brtitsh army uniform at that time was modeled on 'sporting', ie 'Unting , shooting, fishing and Golf, clothing fashionable at the time.
  7. So if you touch, just here.... if the current is flowing it blows your cap off!
  8. Yes, the Dodge does look in good nick. :-D
  9. Look Boss! Not my fault the steersmen wern't talking to eash other!
  10. There are tench maps available on DVD. They are expensive though. One problem with trench maps are they are not standad. Trench lines and names changed all the time, and of course nintey + years have passed. The best bet is get decent modern maps and work from them. http://www.themapcentre.com/acatalog/Online_Catalogue_IGN_Mapping_42.html
  11. Not with trench map, but if you going visiting, get a copy of 'The Battlefeilds of the First World War' by Peter Barton. Will cost about £40 or from libary. Has a lot of panoramic photos from the period plus two on CD disc. Very useful.
  12. Thanks Rob! All help gratfully recived. At £6.85 per kit, I'm going to do both ends, even though the other end is OK. Daft to have it all apart and not do both.:

Add a couple of self inflating camping matresses and a silk sleeping bag liner. Any poor s*d can be uncoftable!
  14. turns out the 101 has another unique feature. The Ball joints can be rebuilt. On the top of the housing is a circlip, remove clip, tap firmly and out it all comes.
  15. Hi Brian, joined 101 club, spocken to Darren. The club does a repair kit for under £10. Do you know anything about it? It's intriguing me how it would work. The real annoying thing is that it's a couple of hours work at most to do the job, if I can get the d** bit!! Will PM
  16. Where abouts in the county are you? There are quite a few of us round here.
  17. Try your local saddler. They may know a supplier. But surley that sortof thing would be our beloved Leader's domain?
  18. I have a lot of friends in Ver Sur Mer, including the museum! They would love to hear any stories. So would I for that matter! http://goldbeach.org.uk
