    Yes Norman, should have said 'Pick wood carfully'. A god wodden base helps, especially on soft ground. The addition of a bit of beading round the jack base helps keep it in place.I

    You can good bottle jacks of around twelve tons for about £30/35 . Always better to be overjacked than under. Bottles do have a high lift, but quite a narrow top. I get round it by countersinking a piece of wood then sticking the top of the jack in that. I would never rely on a jack of any type alone. Been there lucky to get away with it. I'd rather invest in a set of good very heavy axle stands.

    If you can make a Dart engine viable after it's been in service , you can work miricles! If you can make a Dart engine viable anytime. Most Dart's coming out will be Euro 2 at best surley. What normally happens is the vehicle gets passed on to the provencies where they don't care.

    Found it! Just pump LEZ registration checker into search engine. So now my Disco is coming up 'Not subject to the emission zone'. The Dodge is coming up 'Exempt from emission zone'. Knowing how TfL weasel words I am wondering about the diffrences. Was going to comment on database used, decided blood pressure and Moderators might not like it.     This weeks Channel 4 Titanic- The mision concentrated on electricity. They were using a steam dockyard boiler and an Allen set from Preston srvices. The voltage was about 400v. Now what's intresting me is did these produce AC or DC current?

    Not that I know of. Most vehicle clubs are not intrested in the extra hassle. The Group has to have a constitution, photographic mebership cards and third party liability insurance.
