  1. Or go the whole hog and replace the distributor with a full electronic kit. No more timing problems or other standard ignition problems.
  2. I must say Rosie, the style does look better on you than it would on him. And the dress. :-D
  3. Hum, bit of redecoration in Katy then. :cool2:
  4. Thanks Richard. I have to say I'm more intrested in the mechanical jobs at the moment, most of the weekend will be spent cleaning and servicng. That an inventoring the stuff that come with her. The collection Carol made over the years is amazing. Theres all sorts of stuff. For a vehicle that hasn't moved in four or five years she came up the motorway from Portsmouth pulling like a trian, good oil pressure at 50 lb all the way and steady temprature. While your about though, silly question. Is it normal for the vacum wipers to stop when the engine is under load and fly at idle? Got a bit disconcerting till I worked it out.
  5. Anyone know where this was, and what is was? Katy has a plate on the dash TRUCK 3/4 ton Ambulance WC54 USA Serial 712000 Delivery 15/10/52. She also has some Norwegian plates.
  6. Greenflag. I've personal cover, just over £100 a year any vehicle up to max 3.5 tons. No age limit , nio call out limit, AND, if they don't get there in an hour you get £10 back.
  7. On the grounds, 'Who cares what coulour it is? There's a war on'.
  8. Greenflag will cover the person and any vehicle up to 3.5 tons. And no age limits on vehicle or call out limits.
  9. With very little problems for a vehicle that had done about 25 miles in the last five years, Katy came charging up the motorway yesterday like good'un, and is now safley parked outside. She has a rebuild plate on her dated 1952. I'll post the information later today.
  10. Or as Ronnie Corbett put it, 'Now I'm down here. What else have I got to do.':-D
  11. Bi planes did carry on into the 1930's. The Tiger Moth was standard trainer till the forties, and of course the Fairey Swordfish.
  12. Synthetic Hessian is the best. Cotton rope wouldn't last very long as it is under constant abrasion on the tabs.
  13. That's a very similar brown to the one mine is. It looks OK on the vehicle.
  14. Large Slow Target. :-D Though in the 1960's a RN LST was used to transport a generator armature to Jersey. It was the only thing that could. My Dad took me down to St Aubin's bay to se it. A huge thing when your about 6 years old.
  15. God, a trip down memory lane! The old Bristols, a 1919 aircraft flying in 1960's. High wing fixed undercarriage bloody draughty noisy and uncomfortable.
