    Polishing up with an old fashioned Black Lead polish used on fire grates and stoves can give a nice finish. Cheap enough from a local hardware store.

    Welcome in mate! I can assure you all I now know the forks of the lift go UNDERNEATH then you Lift them! Not down first, then hang by any bit that's caught. Simple mistake anybody could have made. :blush:

    Used to do 'debugging' we had a unit that pluggd into each mains electrical ring. Amazing what you hear. :cool2: :shocked:

    You can still get the Izal A** scraper. And don't forget! 1 fold one sheet in half 2 Tear a half circle out of the centre of the folded edge (Keep for later) 3 stick finger through hole 4 Use sheet as appropriate 4 Take previously torn half circle 5 Use to clean underfingernails. :-D

    Is it paint or Blueing? Cold blueing can be bought from a gun shop. To get a proffesional re blue can be ....expensive.

    There seem to be so many variations on the type of weapon being de-aced. The most important thing is the metal has the proof marks of either London or Birmingham on it. The paper certificate is nice, but it the Proof Mark on the weapon that makes it legal. Good idea to know where the marks are on your collection, can save a lot of embarresment
