  1. NICE!!! A 25lb Mk1, now that's attention to deatail! :-D
  2. A certain International Australian show jumper used to win his beer money by jumping his horse over tractors. Till someone pulled out a Ford World master series. :-D Two Series 3 109's were part of a jump at the Burghley international horse trials a few years back. The hoop over the back of the Horse Ambulance is intresting. It is for slinging a horse if it has a leg injury and can't stand. I had a modified Rice trailer with a similar attachment. You need at least a three ton working load to deal with a big horse, allowing for the horse to kick and move.
  3. Yes, mine came to. However I'm sticking with a known scource of expertise for advice. Wait till I get the chance over the weekend to dig up some of the rest of the stuff. There is what I think is a collection of Airline cap badges, including a mint BEA and posibly British Caledonian. This fits as Carol had links with Jersey Airport. Therse a nice Garand cleaning rod set for sale swop to good home.I want to sort out the non medical stuff and exchange it. Enigma the F rather than a B is quite possible as it is blurred. I'm working late shifts at the moment so the body clock is fried.
  4. Hi Dave, your in the right place, here a Munga is considered quite normal.
  5. Welcome in, I see your already indoctirinated then.
  6. Welcome along. Wouldn't a 3,0000 pice jigsaw been a bit easier as a hobby though?
  7. I've pulled out the liners on all three helmets. The outer side of the liners are all painted green, so no markings. One of the steel pots has on the inside two white edeged shapes, like an american Captain's bars, and a black square with R. M. L. some sort of black blob, possibly a crest, then ABGEXEURD. The internal sides on the other pots are battered and a bit rusty. If they are repros, I've no compunction about re painting, but would hate to mess up originals.
  8. Welcome in. There not bad vehicles to work on, what sort of problems have you?
  9. Is that a Horse ambulance in there? Didn't know one of them had survived.
  10. As far as colour matching goes my local Dulux Colour Centre is spot on. They also do sample pots for a fiver of your mix, That was enough to do the windscreen frame and dashnoard of my WC54, and the diffrence to the older paint is neglible. The stuff I'm using is Metal sheild Satin finish, but you can always use a Matting spary. The formula/mix code is on the tin so I can get more mixed. Enough to do a Dodge is about £56.
  11. Thanks Mate! I've got three of them. I'll get some more pictures and post them. :tup::
  12. First, is the vehicle road registered? A lot of them were registered as agricultural in the early days, so what is on the log book?
  13. I have a picture of one of those with a Gas Bag on the roof. A friend also has the official white black out markings.
  14. I'm starting to sort through the stuff I've inherited, and there is a very mixed bunch! Amongst the stuff are these three Helmets. Can the The Expert identify them for me please? :flowers:
  15. Welcome Roger. We can't help much with the sanity of your decision, but there will be plenty of people to share sob stories with!
  16. That is a very practical lovley little vehicle. I envy you. :-D
  17. You'll have to talk to DVLA. I quired it when I first got the vehicle and was told it is exempt. So I acepted DVLA's word.
  18. We've been through this. From the time I bought her and took the intial renewal up to the local DVLA office, getting on eleven years now, they never questioned it for MOT. Their check showed exempt. No futher re-newals showed the MOT Requirment. The 54 is new or rather re-imported- So an intial test for roadworthyness would be needed anyway. That is something that does concern me though. If I'd brought her over later in the year, surley some initial check would still be needed. Though, if, as I could have done, I'd kept her registered at a friend's adress in Jersey, which I can, as I have right of residency, I could keep her on Jersey plates for up to one year, then if I took her back to Jersey for a couple of days, I could keep her for another year. The other thing is the word 'Ambulance' on the log book. I know from the 101 that this can be a pain in the butt, hence after consulting DVLA, she is now listed as a 'Van'. Custom's were also very good on the way in, classing her as personal property (As no sale of the vehicle had been involved) and clearing it straight away.
  19. OK, you win! :rofl::rofl::thumbsup:
  20. Welcome Stella. What area are you in, there are French members who may be able to help.
