In Gavin Lyall's book The Secret Servant a carachter supposedly a member of the LRDG describes bobby trapping a Kubelwagen by inserting an extra spark plug into the fuel tank, wired to the coil. Maybe just leave as is as a coversation piece?
What about Electrostatic painting? Hammerite are doing a system, might be worth futher research, the system is supposed to get paint into all the corners. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hammerite-HAM6705020-Metal-Master-Spray/dp/B001GUA800
I'll be down getting a hearing trumpet tommorow, what's the NATO stock number? :-\ What about a modern plastic replacement? Surley that wouldn't be effected by Ethanol. Maybe that's the reason you now have to carry a breathaliser in the vehicle when going through France!
Must say, the older engines like the Weasel's that were designed to run on about 78 octane, don't seem to have problem with modern fuels. Maybe my two Darling Dodges are exceptional but they will even run on French pertrol! (Gas).:-D
Scaffold pipe frame and the plastic stuff they put round, can't think of name. Often avilable second hand as the stuff is lifed, works very well. A breathable carvan cover works very well also.
